He’s the hot favourite to wear the No.9 for NSW but Apisai Koroisau has been caught in limbo as a result of Manly’s salary saga.

While listed as off-contract, the 25-year-old has signed a new three-year-deal but it can’t be approved.

Until the NRL comes to a resolution for the alleged breaches of Manly’s salary cap over the past five seasons, no new contracts will be registered.

Curtis Sironen is in the same boat.

He’s also extended his contract until the end of 2021 but is caught in limbo.

While the NRL had hoped to have the matter wrapped up before the season kicked off, Market Watch understands a resolution is nearing.

The good news for Sea Eagles supporters is both Sironen and Koroisau’s deals will be finalised as soon as the NRL makes their ruling.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the nrl drag this out until 2020 so we can't re sign anyone.

Yes but the NRL will not register any new contracts. What happens if they do not make a decision on this until next year or the year after that? Probably unlikely but you never know with the NRL.

And what has happened with Thompson's contract? The NRL must have somehow allowed this to be registered or else he would not be playing for Manly now.
