A lot of hate for Api Koroisau over his time at manly, mainly due to his lapses of concentration in passing but I can already tell he's worked on that through the off season. His passing has really improved and he always takes advantage of the quick play of the ball, we saw that in spades tonight but the real highlight for me was his defence. Absolutely outstanding, always has been. He hits really hard and I think he cops a lot of unfair criticism from our supporters. He's tough and always having a dig. I know I cop it for supporting him but even ill admit at times last year he was poor. But this year his passing is more efficient and smarter and he's lost those ankle and head passes. Well done Api you always rip in mate and you were a big part of tonight's win. He and Hastings should be our hookers, with Hastings providing calm off the bench.

I think you and I are the biggest fans of Api on the forum! I love the guy...I don't know what it is about him...maybe it's his Toovey like courage.

I will admit that I have not been a fan of Api's dummy half work, but tonight he was good there. His passes for the most part were crisp and clean and while he still misses some tackles, he does put in a lot of defensive work.

You must admit that the speed of his dummy half pickups and runs were totally different to what he has been producing.@

I fear that the Manly loading may have him on the sidelines for that flip of the Cow. Even though the player just landed on his back, never looked like a spear tackle. But the MRC have strange viewpoints 😎

Yeah not convinced.
But credit where it's due I was proud of all of them.
It was good to see even the ref gave up on trying to get the cowgirls* across the line.
That's a mark of respect.
*( not withstanding our silvertails girls who would play them off a break )

Yup have to give credit he has been much better this year and took advantage perfectly tonight

In Api's defence we were not standing flat footed in attack tonight ,always makes a hookers role harder...

@Turbo1 while Api was good tonight, just remember this is only one game. The time to get excited is when he starts doing it consistently.
He has been doing well all year and last year he just finally got some credit cause people are beginning to realise his passing isn't all that bad.

I admit I gave his a roasting the last few weeks but credit where credit's due. He had a great game and hopefully he stays is consistent because last year he had a couple of very good games but wasn't consistent enough.
Happy to be proven wrong.

With reference to the thread title, I loved how ecstatic Api was at the final whistle. Some other players looked drained and couldn't even smile (Tafua), but Api was bouncing around like a kid at Christmas. Love the heart he displays even in adversity.

His passing and general game was the same rubbish the prior two weeks. He was being rightfully plastered by fans only two days ago..Dont rewrite history.Have a look at Hastings passing from dummy half last night. Class above.Apis possible suspension may give us a chance to have a proper look at him in the 9.

Korisau is a first grade footballer which requires he performs every week. One decent game in two seasons and he's a hero.Doesnt work like that I'm afraid.

It's just like the analysis of our team. People were on the verge of anarchy two days ago which was way over the top, just as the top 4 stuff is now.

API is a very ordinary dummy half and we are an average side (with plenty of talent that needs to show it week in week out). Only consistent performances will change that.

DCE will shine if our players play to their ability and a 7 to 10 position is definitely gettable .

Api was good last night in reference to quick runs from dummy half which really got the team moving and tackling strong. But there was still plenty of those looping passes he hasnt got a bullet pass in his game when you want to get it from dummy 1/2 to the outside

It's amazing how a big win can cloud the obvious.

Firstly his defence is immense followed closely by his massive ticker. That's not in question.

But the guy isn't up to taking this side to the top 4 let alone a gf win. He really can't pass the ball in a manner that would take us forward.

Take your blinkers off for one minute turbo1. First 2 matches this year have been awful from dummy half. Looping passes. No direction. No running. Last night was better but still only a lower mid table sort of hooker. As I said the guys defence is great but facts are facts.

Do you remember a guy called Ballin? Fact is he was a better defender. More tackles per match. Better passing from low down and a real part of the spine. Funny thing was he was shipped out by trento for someone who's not as good in any department. Go figure.

While ever he's the starting no.9 we will struggle in that department and fail to reach the heights we all desire.

Agree completely. I've said all along about Api - as a hooker, he is your Heath L'Estrange 'impact hooker' type. You bring him on for 15 mins here and there, mainly to run at tired defences, knowing full well that by doing so you are sacrificing some accuracy and crispness in clearing the ball out of the ruck.

I would've liked to see that kind of rotation with Parcell (in the Ballin role) and Koroisau (in the L'Estrange role), but we got rid of the 'clockwork' guy and only kept the 'jack in the box' one. Now, I'd like to see that rotation tried with Hastings as starting hooker.
