Happy Birthday to the legendary Terry 'Igor' Randall.
67 today.
Bloody hell. 67......
You just don't expect legends to age. I still see him in his 20s smashing the opposition round the park.
There has never been a tackler before or since with the devastating perfection he had.
Though Tooves and Jake are the best I've seen in maroon and white since, Igor could annihilate.

A few years ago there was that terrible accident at the bottom of Warringah Road, when some idiot came careering around onto Pittwater Road and lost his load onto an unfortunate driver’s car. Luckily no one died. Anyway...

...on Nein news that night, reporter Jane Azzopardi interviewed eyewitness ‘Brookvale local Terry Randall.’ I’m sure she had no idea who he was, nor did the dope (probably Peter Underton or Michael Usher in his Nein days) back in the studio!

But the great man still looked like a well preserved 45-50 year old (when in fact he was already in his 60s) and he was clearly working his charm on the reporter.

And she liked it.

My great uncle, who was neighbours with the Randall’s loved telling the story that he talked Terry into playing league instead of soccer which he was into as a youngster. Thanks Uncle Angus
