. . . that despite being outplayed for 80% of the match, the difference came down to luck, with Carney's conversion bouncing in off the uprights and Jamie's bouncing away off the uprights?
Reverse these and we win, not that we deserved to.

Yeah, i mentioned in another thread that we played poorly and still nearly won.

Your point illustrates that further.

Just goes to show that we have such a strong roster that we really need put in a stinker in order to lose

the pass was pretty good, just a bit high. Snake wasn't right next to him. just a pity he couldn't take it on go over.

Running at full pace & trying to take a pass up over your head, very difficult to do even for Snake.

We were our own worst enemies in that first half but came back strongly in the second. I agree luck had a bit to do with it, none of their dropped balls were called knock-ons, ours were, all their passes stuck, ours didn't. We kept them scoreless in the second half and nearly pinched the win. The worst thing to come out of that game is T-Rex suspension, he's going to be missed.

Definately went over this at the time with the post probably doing what was right in fairness to the result.
Also think if the 1st kick from Lyon went over, after the 2nd Oldfield try he would have been kicking to win the game.
Lyon rushed the 2nd kick as he should have to allow more time to have a shot at the winning try.
Gotta say the footballs gods got it right, Sharks played with more tempo for most of the game & deserved the win, but gutsy resolve from the Seaeagles to give a sight.

Even more difficult to throw the pass. Snake should have taken it.

Beaten by a better team on the night, they turned up with their footie heads on and we were on the back foot from the get go.

To break it down more, if Oldfield could have angled inwards towards Snake in support as the fullback was already committed, would have made it a much shorter & direct pass.
Doubt anyone would have taken that greasy, high ball at full speed in those conditions. He could also have put it on the boot & Snake would have won the race.
After Snakes 2nd half try its fair to say he has pretty good hands.
