Wouldn't it make sense to charge each person that attends to go through the gate to cover the expense? I wonder how many would be willing to pay $100 for the cup and the wafer?

That's the NSW Liquor Licensing laws. 500,000 getting a cup of wine and bar nibbles costs $40M 😉

They are quoting a figure of around $120M coming into the State for the event. But I agree with you. User pays principle seems to have gone completely out the window in the last month, both State and Federal.

Exactly why we need a Charities Commission so we know who is doing what with proceeds.

As mentioned previously, we were cleared by the ATO 3 years ago when they were looking for someone to take to court as their test case.

We're one of only 2 or 3 charities that have the clean bill of health courtesy of an ATO review and big tick.

I don't know enough about the operations of those two you mention to be able to comment on their affairs, but I know Kellogs have had Sanitarium in their gun sights for a long time and will smear them in a any way possible.
