Absolutely BUT you have to have hope.

I doubt our team can be UP like they were last week , each and every week , they just aren’t built that way ( yet ), so we will put in a piss poor performance ( or two ) along the way.

BUT all of a sudden that win has convinced them that they can in fact compete , and for that reason Saturday night was HUGE.
You never know..... maybe the DCE departure will work in our favour for once. Also, we should have a few key players returning from injury over the next months hopefully that will give them a boost.

We are not currently in the 8 when Byes and for/against are considered.

However , when Sharks & Dolphins get the Bye , We play and can earn 2 points ?
Yes, and if we do, that will be when I celebrate being in the 8.

My post was partly because I noticed that when I googled 'NRL Ladder' the official ladder that appears has byes as zeros and can be a bit misleading (I believe). I just checked and their ladder on their site does include them.

Generally 13 wins should get you there, so it’s probably 4 but they’re have been teams who have missed out with 13 in the past so it’s important we keep our points differential up. 5 to be safe but 5/7 with so many danger games coming might be a big ask 🤷‍♂️

3 home games are all must wins. Especially Chooks and Phins, need to give them that extra loss to boost our chances. Then it’s a case of just scraping an away win or 2 somewhere.

Really not sure how our season ends at this point, could be anything

Analysis by fox

. MANLY SEA EAGLES (24 points, +60)

Predicted finish
: 8th

Chance of finishing in top eight: 70.4%

Chance of finishing top four: 5.2%

Chance of winning minor premiership: 0%

Remaining games: Bulldogs (A), Roosters (H), Raiders (A), Tigers (A), Dolphins (H), Dragons (A), Warriors (H)

Analysis: An upset win over arch rivals the Storm has Manly back in the hunt for a finals spot, but they are not out of the woods yet amid a tough draw. The Sea Eagles next face the Bulldogs and Raiders away and the Roosters at home, so they will need to cause some more upsets if they want to feature in September footy. A strong points differential looms as their trump card as they look to squeak into the finals, but unless they can go on a run they will struggle to make it, especially with just three home games left.

Couple of points-

Roosters play the Dolphins in round 23, plus we play them both st Brookie

Round 27 we play Wahs at Brookie - they should have top 4 spot sewn up and will rest players. Phins play Raiders who will rest players. Roosters play Souths in the Ultimate Book of Feuds clash.

Bad news is I have us playing at either Panthers or Broncos in round one. Game over and is there any point to making the 8 with only 8th spot up for grabs.

Seibold probably gets a cash bonus if we make the 8, and/or probably doesn't get sacked.
"We made the finals, the premiership window is open etc etc etc blah blah" they will run with next year.

We will destroy the Dogs this weekend placing them in an emotionally dark spiral from which they won't recover this year and they we will go on to win all remaining games...
Nickto Barada Klaatu 👍 We need 4 and 5 to be more safe to get in the top 8, and I believe this will only happen if Turbo plays centre (defence there is already better) and Reubs play wing (attack from Reubs has gotten better playing wing.) Would be awesome to have Ola there next to Turbo.

Not enough for Manly to make it. You can't lose games to 4 of the bottom 6 and expect to make finals. It's clear after that poor effort in 2nd half that we're not top 8 material and will be wasting our time if we do manage to scrape in.

I suspect you're right, Mick. Hoping against hope that this was "The Loss We Had to Have", but we're just too unreliable to expect anything but disappointment (with the occasional side serving of Complete Sh#t Sandwich).

Seibold has the absolute hide to tell the press yesterday that Manly has beaten 4 of the top 6.
Funny, he didn't mention losing to 4 of the bottom 6, which indicates systemic problems
