I was wrong

@SeaEagleRock8 did you see some of these?

This was from the Cato Institute

Who get partly funded by those well known left wing loonies the Koch family

And this one by someone with even more time than us who put together a super cut of Mr Trump, in a shocking development, being highly hypocritical and using the very language he says he hates

islam 143 with the small population 🤣 colour me shocked. Save the UK. Save Europe. Save the world.

Considering he thinks the ABC journalist was out of place asking Trump questions that implied wrong doing on his part while in office, & then went on to make it about how much Australian taxpayers give to the ABC, distracting for the subject of said questions, I doubt he's going to have much sympathy for the likes of Jimmy Kimmel & their "free speech".

Trump is pulling all of his ideas straight from the Dictator's handbook, but some people simply don't want to open their eyes, ears or minds & prefer instead to use whataboutisms.
Would you have voted for camilla harris or trump ?

Don’t forget “excluding 9/11”.
I've been studying that garbage satanic cult for the last 10 years. I know their bloody history their books and their mindset. They are entering the 2nd stage of jihad in Europe at the moment. Crime is up in all categories in the UK, they house illegals in 4 and 5 star hotels. These people then go out and commit sexual assaults on minors and women. The Unite the Kingdom match was brilliant 👏 between 2-3 million people there despite what the qatar paid news will tell you 🤣 the MP of Poland was even there. Civil war in the UK will break out if starmer and SIR saqid (fmd) dont stop these traitorous acts ! The next match will be EVEN BIGGER! Free people of the world lessss goooo!

I think you will find some people on here have a somewhat contradictory perspective on various religions, but I will let them speak for themselves.

Cancel culture coming back to bite people on the arse. You reap what you sow.
Sounds like you think Kimmel and all those sacked were fair game, and one journo upsetting Trump prompted you to suggest the entire ABC should be shut down.
I guess that answers my question anyway! You do not support free speech.

That’s incorrect. I have thought the ABC should be shut down since Whitlam was in office.
As for Kimmel, if his employer chooses to sack him, that’s their business in a free society. I suspect they would just be looking for an excuse though, given how patently unfunny he is for a so-called comedian. Hope that clarifies.

Can't help wondering what free speech advocates such as @Brookie1973 think about the sacking of Jimmy Kimmel and others deemed to have made inappropriate comments?
If you are referring to Pam Bondi’s stupid comments I’m fairly sure she is already attempting to back track after being flamed by people on the left & right. Seems she spends most her time trying to cover her own tracks lol

As a hypothetical (assuming you are left leaning) I’ll ask you something. If someone on the left was murdered & you worked with a far right supporter who openly supported the assassin on social media would you feel comfortable & safe around them knowing they want people with similar beliefs to yourself dead? I sure wouldn’t. How about if they were a school teacher to your children? Would that make you feel uncomfortable?

Free speech is to protect what you say from the government which is why Bondi’s comments were so ridiculous. It certainly doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences to what you say from employers. It’s simple as that in my eyes.

In a nutshell my view is if there is a legal political witch hunt over people expressing their right of free speech its disgraceful & hypocritical from the Trump administration. On the other hand Kimmel’s stupid comments will 100% have a negative affect on ratings which directly impacts his employers/network pockets $.

Free speech doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences to what you say from employers. It’s simple as that in my views. (Sorry for the rant)

Protections for workers vary state by state, but across most of the U.S., it’s “at-will” employment law, meaning employers can choose to hire and fire as they see fit, including over employees’ speech.

“The First Amendment does not apply in private workplaces to protect employees’ speech,” said Andrew Kragie, an attorney who specializes in employment and labor law at Maynard Nexsen, while speaking with the Associated Press. “It actually does protect employers’ right to make decisions about employees, based on employees’ speech.”

Steven T. Collis, a law professor at the University of Texas at Austin and faculty director of the school’s Bech-Loughlin First Amendment Center, also points to some state laws that say employers can’t fire their workers for “legal off duty conduct.” But there’s often an exception for conduct seen as disruptive to an employer’s business or reputation, which could be grounds to fire someone over public comments or social media posts.

Of course not but that's not what Kimmel said

Yes but there have been plenty that have been let go for that reason. I was just seeing where the line is drawn in your opinion as you often question everyone else’s views in this thread. When you say ‘all those others sacked’ I assume you are referring to those people

These guys know nothing hahaha even edited the post so it's NO LONGER in Charlie's honour! How disgusting! The guy was a great man a family man who took it upon himself to help youth and many others around the world. Guy sharp as they come and maybe 1 day could of been president. Shot in the neck at a university trying to help kids... yes let's not honour him

Notable Controversial Statements by Charlie Kirk

  1. “Some gun deaths … are worth it”
    He said in April 2023:

“It’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.” The Standard
This drew backlash because many regard any avoidable gun deaths as unacceptable.
  2. On women, careers, motherhood
In September 2025, speaking with Laura Ingraham, Kirk said that “having children is more important than having a good career.” He also advised young women that they can put off good careers and focus on marriage and motherhood first. The Standard
He’s also made remarks that women over 30 are less attractive in the dating pool, and has criticized birth control saying it makes women “angry and bitter.” The Standard
  3. Comparisons to Holocaust and abortion
Kirk has likened abortion in the U.S. to the Holocaust, stating that allowing abortion is akin to allowing a large-scale massacre of unborn babies. The Standard+1
  4. “Great Replacement” statements
He’s endorsed or pushed language related to the “great replacement” theory — the idea that undocumented immigrants (or certain demographic shifts) will replace white Americans. He has said “The ‘Great Replacement’ is not a theory, it’s a reality.” populartimelines.com+2Firstpost+2
  5. Race, Black people, Civil Rights Act
    • He reportedly said things like: “If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’” Firstpost+1
    • He has been critical of affirmative action, and claimed that Blacks kill themselves a lot and kill each other in inner cities, which many see as inflammatory. Firstpost+1
    • He said the 1964 Civil Rights Act was a mistake, linking it to what he considers perpetual DEI-type bureaucracy. Reddit+2populartimelines.com+2
  6. On abortion in rape cases
When asked what he would do if his underage daughter became pregnant due to rape, he said the baby should be delivered. He’s rejected exceptions for rape/incest in many pro-life arguments. Firstpost
  7. On “transgender Americans” and mass shooters
At one event, when an audience member asked him “Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?”, Kirk responded: “Too many.” This statement was controversial because it implies a direct link between being transgender and criminal violence. Firstpost
  8. Views on Gaza, Israel, Muslims
    • He defended Israel’s war on Gaza and rejected allegations that Israel was starving Gazans, calling such imagery “propaganda,” or “optical warfare.” Firstpost+1
    • He has said: “Muslims that run Hamas are not going to stop until they believe they can kill every single Jew on the face of the earth. That is their goal.” Firstpost
  9. COVID-19 and “China virus”
He used the term “China virus,” which many consider derogatory or racist. Also he compared vaccine mandates or policies to “medical apartheid” and criticized restrictions, mask mandates, etc. The Standard+2populartimelines.com+2

From long experience, the preferred method of discourse is to ask the questions, not answer them.

Cool copy paste 😅 did you look into any of that ?

Yeah, I'm aware of all of it, I just used ChatGPT to summarise it in an easily digestible format for those in here with "room temperature IQ".

I suppose you're trying to claim the "context" of each of these statements excuses them, yes?

What a guy Charlie Kirk was.

Why don't you pick one statement & explain how it was justified?

That’s incorrect. I have thought the ABC should be shut down since Whitlam was in office.

Yes it does clarify, thank you.

it follows that you would have no complaint if your employer sacked you after finding out you support Trump policies.

Although I'm surprised if that's true, so feel free to clarify further if you like
