Tonight in Townsville, Tom Trbojevic crossed for his 6th, 7th and 8th tries for NSW Origin (from just 6 games). This not only moved him into equal all time third on the NSW Origin try scorers list (with Josh Addo-Carr, Timana Tahu, Anthony Minichiello and Brad Fittler), and only behind Michael O'Connor and Jailbird Hayne (11 each), but it also moves him past Snoz as the greatest NSW Origin try scorer from Manly.

Snoz scored 11 tries in 19 games for NSW from 1985-1991. He scored 4 in 6 games as a St George Dragon in 1985-1986, and 7 in 13 games as a Sea Eagle from 1987-1991.

Dale Shearer holds the all-time Manly player record in Origin, scoring 10 of his 12 tries for Queensland from 1985-1989 (13 games). His other 2 Origin tries were as a Gold Coast Seagull in 1991.

The late, great Bob Fulton holds the all-time Manly record for tries scored in interstate football. He scored 12 tries from 15 games for NSW from 1967-1975. He added a further 2 tries while playing for Easts in 1978.

The top 5 try scorers from Manly in any senior interstate football are:

12 - Bob Fulton (15 games for NSW Firsts from 1967-1975)
10 - Johnny Bliss (8 games for NSW Firsts from 1947-1951)
10 - Dale Shearer (13 games for Qld Origin from 1985-1989)
8 - Tom Trbojevic (6 games for NSW Origin from 2018-present)
7 - Michael O'Connor (13 games for NSW Origin from 1987-1991)

Note:
  • Johnny Bliss's total also includes two non-interstate games against Toowoomba in 1947 (no try) and a NSW Probables vs Possibles game, also in 1947 (1 try) where he is listed as playing on the wing for NSW Firsts (Probables). Officially the two teams were named NSW Firsts and Rest of NSW Firsts.
  • Rowdy and Snoz both scored a try in the Origin exhibition game in Los Angeles in 1987, though they are counted in official totals despite Qld's protests that the game shouldn't count (hmmm, could that be because they happened to lose??).
