Is Gorman teflon coated .. ?

Is Gorman teflon coated or are we just cutting him some slack ... is it because none of us actually know what he does for a living ?

I have just read and participated in over 100 pages of posts slaming Barrett as the great evil and Penn as the Devil's dildo ..... but what about young Lyall ..... where is he in all this, is he the CEO running the joint or is he just a Penn lip-spittle doing as he is told each day?

He has been missing all year .....

I think many saw him as the experienced successful CEO we needed ......

But, if .. (as I suspect) .. he is simply there to implement Penn's decisions, then given the contineous cluster-fukk results, he may be reading his own contract for the "notice" requirements .... and if all these decisions were his then why aren't we slaming him ...

Being at Manly certainly can't be improving his CV.

That has been my attitude as well ...

But it is a very different operating situation for a CEO .... at Cronulla and elsewhere ... most CEO's are the boss and report to a board that generally let him do his job his way (see GreenTurd) ...

Here he has the title of CEO , but it is a family owned operation with one shareholder and one boss ...... he may not be calling the shots .... and if he isn't .... he may be as happy a little camper as we are ......

I have no insider info .... but have been around long enough to know that talented and competent people also have egos .... I just wondr what being at Manly is doing to young Lyall's.

I’ve got a good deal of respect for Lyall and I think , given the constraints , he’s doing a fine job.

Oh sure not delivering everyone’s wishes as fast as you’d all
like BUT he’s very hamstrung by what he inherited and Rome wasn’t built in a day!!

I’d rather him than any of the others we’ve had over the past 2-3 years.

He’s just not going to be able to fix the basket case we are overnight.

Have patience , I know it’s hard but I’m sure he’s doing the best he can.

Given our owners and their propensity for shooting themselves in the foot (even when they're aiming at others), being CEO of the Sea Eagles is definitely a poisoned chalice. Except we're so poor it's more like a poisoned disposable paper cup. Or maybe a poisoned McDonald's promotional "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" thickshake cup pulled out of a garbage bin, which of course the CEO sips from as he lies back on the banana lounge he brought from home to liven up his demountable office.
