Is Mestrov really our Messiah?

Hard to say with Mestrov as he has gone very quiet. I thought he started quite strongly in the position. One red flag was when the DCE saga unfolded and he sent messages to NRL360 that they had in fact offered DCE a contract - vicinity of $750k for 2 seasons. I may not have the facts exactly right but this felt like a desperate, knee jerk reaction as opposed to a well thought out plan to replace DCE.

Too many on Silvertails & Media think they know what’s going on at Manly hierarchy level. Everyone offers an opinion as though they’re privy to what’s happening in the background. I don’t think anyone other than those high up have any fu<king clue! All I see is $hit constantly piled onto the coach, most players, CEO etc. Seems NO ONE is good enough to wear Maroon & White. Seems NO ONE is good enough to run Manly. Whoever the club signs is $hat on before given a chance. But what do you want? A CEO to go on NRL 360 and answer all the journos clickbait scuttlebutt? You think that would do anything to quell the media pile-on of Manly!??!!

Not that I'm any expert but I think Mestrov's been doing OK.
The only errors I can think of would be signing off on Schu's contract (and presumably he acted on advice of our brilliant recruitment team in that?) and the knee-jerk call to 360 with an offer to DCE (which at the time people suggested was probably at Penn's direction).

As far as cock ups go, the Schuster signing by Mestrov and Seibs was farcical. They heralded this signing as a huge coup at the time before releasing Josh a few months later. Having to pay $250,000 off our cap for the next three years is a dirty bit of business.

I have no opinion on him really, but I will have a very strong anti opinion of him if he relieves seibold of his coaching duties and gives him an uncontested director of football role.

What has he done to deserve it or proof he could do it.

Might I humbly suggest that the mood on silvertails closely parallels the performance of the team. If we were sitting pretty in the 8, it would be all sunshine and rainbows on here. And we are all experts btw.

It doesn't matter if we do or don't know what is going on at the club behind closed doors.
Everyone on Silvertails can see the results on the field, and it is soul destroying. Regardless of who or what is to blame it is currently a hard time to be a Manly supporter.
We are the sausage eaters who keep the club financially viable so our opinions count. If the same clowns are in charge at the start of next season, picking the same non-performers, just watch how few membership renewals the club achieves.

What did you want to happen after the initial terrible signing? Keep him on the books at 800k while he sits at home eating KFC?

No one will dispute the 800k contract was a massive blunder - but to clear most of the money off the books and admit the mistake was as good as they could do under the circumstances.

Just being honest MOB…..we start a season with promise & hope & every year it gets fu<ked up! Nothing has changed since 2014! No matter who’s coach, who’s CEO or what players we have! Fu<k the Superleague war & Bears for turning us into paupers!
