[Resurrected] Jake to HOOKER

Given how much Turbo improved in the last 6 months with a different training regimen I think Jake just needs to train differently. He needs to train for power and not endurance.
Jake has a Big Motor and is a Big Hitter . He has power and endurance
He lacks power in other areas like running speed and Bending and Breaking the Line.
I think Seibold should send Jake to America to get some special Line Dancing Lessons
and Make Jake Greater

very brokeback - more relative to the drag queens

Certainly going to be a bit of a quandary if Jake does start as a prop next season .
Expectation then Paseka also starting .
Then who best in rotation , would think Bully as a definite then Alioia or Sipley if all three can be accommodated on the bench but probably not .
Then to still cater for Brown on the bench if that would still be a preference .
Then for probably a necessity somehow to cover either Simpkin or Froggy as a run on 9 .
Or is Tavega in the mix as a utility forward or 9 replacement option .
Then to find a spot for either Lehi or Talau on the bench if both are not included in a run on side .
No idea really and then the possibility that Patolo or Chee Kam could come into calculations for a run on edge position and then to cater for Burbo.
As i said, no idea really until things start to get a bit serious in the trial stage on the team make up front

We have plenty who can play hooker with Froggy, Simkin, GCKT, Tevaga, the latter two who are internationals for Samoa and now the young guy from the Bulldogs.

Should Jake play prop, ideally yes, as he did in Origin and for Australia, however, unfortunately, he is the best #13 we have at the moment, and until someone else really puts their hand up, Jake is the best option.

The #13 player has really evolved of recent times whereby they can be a Yeo type player or a Cameron Murray or Radley type player. Basically they are the same, but different body shapes. They are quick, can break the line, are great distributors of the ball, and fantastic defenders. Jake just misses out with his speed as a #13.

We have plenty of props with Paseka, Aloiia, Taukeiaho, Bullemor, Sifley Patolo and some emerging props from juniors.

Jake has to be in the team and those who suggest not, thank God you are not a selector.

I don't think there are many who would seriously want him out of the side. I just don't think he's an 80 minute player anymore and I'd rather play him for 40 with some impact than for 80 just to hold the defensive line together (assuming someone who can defend handily at lock replaces him for the other 40).

Taukeiaho could be a bit of a surprise package if he can stay largely injury free.
Every indication of taking his opportunity seriously and putting in with the early training , preparation stages ..
Jake would be one of the least suited candidates for a 9 role with the current squad and really can not see any continuation of a Jake - Brown 13 combo benefiting the side overall .
Trade off between Jake 's highly effective and reliable defence and his less then ideal impact in attack .
Sure that this is a fairly obvious understanding from the coaching group and with the balancing act of trying to get it right

In my opinion Taukeiaho is basically a replacement for Lodge and providing he can stay injury free, he’ll provide better value.

Tapolo could be a revelation and Navale is only going to mature.

I have no concern regarding our front row, providing they stay injury free and while our options at 9 may not rank in the top 5, there’s a lot of choice now.

Yes, 13 is our Achilles heal, however, until we unearth someone better than Jake at 13, it’s his to keep.
