Jamal Fogarty

Dce has brilliance, which has waned over the last couple of years, but what he doesn't have is game management, driving the team around the park, he can go missing some games and has brain explosions trying to roll the dice at the wrong times.

Im not sure if fogarty being an improvement over DCE is the way id phrase it. What Fogerty does is services the backs well and doesnt get in the way, drives the raiders around the park and game management, putting less pressure on the raiders..

Manly have gun backs, and I believe still short of a quality 2nd row position, but all I hope to see from Fogarty is using the backs without getting in the way/trying to do something himself first most of the time like dce. Give space and room to let them utilise their abilities that we've seen, particularly Lehi and Koula in 2025, rather than always thinking he needs to create the hole and at times stifling or crowding the backs.

DCE too often just does DCE, but he's not as young as he once was,and Fogarty does things as a team, he doesn't have the individual brilliance that dce can display, but he provides consistency, and that is I feel where manly have struggled for so long.

This is why some are excited at the prospect.

I think the main thing is that if Fogarty can help Walsh develop that's the main thing. DCE seemed to prefer an experienced partner in the halves (ie Brooks) . The fact that Fogarty can help guide the younger guys such as Weekes and Strange week in week out is more of a beneficial thing. I'd disregard his performance today for what he can bring to the next crop of Manly juniors is probably more important..

Fogarty should not have been standing in the line to take a pass!
What did he possibly have to gain? The play was to take 1 or 2 hits to the middle and back to Fogarty who should have been standing 25m out…
Fogarty gave himself NO CHANCE of being in position… how is that anyone else’s fault?
I was thinking it was more patties **** service and direction from dummy half that let Fogarty down. Just badly directed play with people running sideways and Pattie stutter passing from dummy half.

It was dumb football from a few players there with 20 seconds to go. You could see Fog was two passes off the ruck in front of the post and I imagine was thinking give me the ball, I’ll turn someone under and we’ll take the shot from the ensuing play the ball. Instead, the ball started coming back to middle before they saw an opportunity back on the inside and again tried to shift down that left edge. It was the wrong play with 20 seconds left.

All you have done all year is moan and b*tch ya f*ckin tosser… and then you b*tch about others doing the exact same thing….
#originalnumbnut
Have I?? Really? My moans are all about dickheads like you bagging players & coaches! Wow so tough & almighty calling people names. I’m shaking to the core for fear of your wrath! You’re probably one of those that bullies people on social media sites behind a false login & carry on like you are now. Big, tough, worm 😂😂😂…..get a life idiot!

He got burnt a couple of times by Walsh but gee Walsh was almost untouchable. His passing and kicking were still top notch. He is no DCE in kicking FG's (but DCE is elite). Simple answer is to get someone else to take the shots or for him to practice more.

Most likely ,only the 3 year deal for Fogarty offering any general negativity
Game management , attacking and backing up ability looks like consistently right up there
Looks like some recent questioning of his defensive positioning and effectiveness , not sure if this will be a problem when he does start his Manly stint as have not noticed any major concerns prior to this weekend
Just no way can accommodate Fogarty , Brooks [ with 2 more seasons ] and a definite game suited Walsh for 2 halfs positions before not too long and the likely emergence of Large soon
So subsequently and not trying to preempt any range of outcomes , going to have to be some serious re - analysis contract wise in the not too distant future for half "s positions and partly cap management
Probably would have allowed for a much smoother transition if D C E did stay around for another year and something still worthwhile to offer but then plenty of current indications that he would not be able to match Fogarty "s likely more positive contribution in 26

Fogarty can't nail or setup FGs the way DCE has for years.

The butchered 2 easy chances yesterday and even though they beat Penrith a few weeks back.

I still have Fogarty missing 2 FGs in normal time i reckon DCE kicks in my mind.

Donkeys should win the comp from here.

Now they have halves depth Reynolds, Mam, Hunt, and there best half in recent months has been Walters. And yes they also have one or 2 young halves talent below that who are akin to Walsh if not even more highly rated.

MWSE need a freshen up. But I wouldn't be putting all my eggs in the Walsh basket and letting blokes go. Penns penny pinching has become our normal.

I agree. They still feel the hurt of the 23 GF and now they have the week off, they will be very hard to beat. Can’t see any of the other teams having either the energy or the fire power to match them.

Broncs certainly have some depth and may give them an edge at this stage of the season and looks like having the easier passage to the G F with either the Dogs or Panthers to face in the Q F
Mentioned already that Storm probably can only take it out with Hughes available , not sure about Pappy but Half Nelson maybe not that big a loss overall on recent form indications
Time will tell with Walsh but only have until Nov the 1 st next year to re commit him to a longer deal if he does really kick on next season and will almost certainly have to be on a more favorable deal to keep him
