Jamie Buhrer 2017 stats

I liked Jamie but even if he does very well which I hope he does , as hard as it may be for many to admit the club over the years has a much better strike rate at player retention than us armchair critics. If on rare occasions they get it wrong they can be forgiven for that. Of all the hundreds of players who would like to play here for ten years the club has to tell just about all of them that they don't rate them highly enough. A very tough job but what is the alternative? We aren't privy usually to the offers made to these players or many factors which go into recruitment. It works both ways , players leave which we would like to keep like Foran and JWH and players are released which some fans and some players want to stay. Take a look at old posts on player recruitment etc , it's a comedy show
True dat. Those that wanted Willo signed up for big money. Those that thought Shane Dunley was the best hooker around.....@

Newcastle Knights forward Jamie Buhrer sustained a fracture in his foot at training on Thursday afternoon.

Buhrer had immediate scans, which confirmed he will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks.

He is likely to be back for Newcastle's Round 14 clash with Manly at Lottoland.

Poor guy can't take a trick. But, it is also something (injury prone) that explains why he's no longer at Manly.....

Ballin and ferris were great players as of course were choc and gift. Foran too. But lets have a look at the tale of the tape.

Take your emotions out of it and how many of them put a decent injury free season in since they were cut?

They are all club legends and deserve the best but maybe its time to move on eh.

Foran is not a club legend.
Neither is Buhrer.

Foran was amazing for this club and he was a future captain everything just fell apart.

Agreed.

Thus he is not a club legend.
Go through the history of players who have pulled on the Manly jersey....where does Foran rank ? Not too high imo.

70 years Turbo, 70 years....not the last 10.

The club needs to look to the future and start signing players who won't get injured.

Maybe if Buhrer did a knee again. A freak training accident doesn't justify us cutting him though...

Yes this would mean the Ox is the equivalent of a club immortal as he managed to get a Dally M and captained us in our "greatest win". I'd be ok with this too@:D
