What's it like breathing only through your mouth? Fat Suli but no Jorge lol glad you aren't anywhere near anyone remotely relevant

Would’ve liked to have kept Jessie Ramien

Check out the ages of the players usually chosen in Test or Origin teams and you won't find many that are young age. There are a couple of exceptions but most top level players are hardened mature professionals.
The so-called 'advantage of youth' often simply means they haven't been around long enough yet for their shortcomings to be exposed.
Some here seem caught up in the fairy tale in which you cant take a (my version) talented youngster and turn him into a champion. Seems someone didn't read the caveat 'based on his potential'. You and I have seen many young players with potential rise to become champions. And there are many that don't. But there is no fairy tale that some will become champions. Happens all the time. Schuster, Albert Hopoate, Ben Trbojevic, Fauna...and Suli...may not become champion players. But potential suggests that the odds are they will, as compared to others. Memories of the fairy tale 'The Ugly Duckling' methinks
If you keep calling Fainu Fauna he might just end up with a new nickname!
Let’s call him Flora!

Somehow with Funa and Fainu on this list, I think there will be a lot of Fauna references this year!

At least Fonua-Blake’s name can be reduced to his initials!!Oh for the days of Billy Smith, Fred Jones and ...oh what's his name
I would like to see Thommo on that list, 100% ManlyThe very fact that the Roosters already have their eyes on them, tells us it is not early at all to be thinking of this stuff.
One of the Roosters well known tactics is to sneak under the guard of opposition junior developments and grab the cream with healthy incentives. All clubs, including Manly, do it, its just that the Roosters do it by far the best. Looking at junior players on the rise is just as important, probably more important, than picking up a star player in the prime of his career. That's why the Eels have failed so badly except in the 1980s. They ignored their junior talent and allowed other clubs to grab the cream.
In past Sea Eagles teams, no doubt assisted by ready cash and no salary cap, Manly ensured they kept their star juniors and poached others. In recent years Manly has handled this issue rather poorly. When the Roosters grab juniors from elsewhere, they then don't lose the top potential players to other clubs. They let go who they don't want and they usually do it smartly. Manly used to do that, but in the past couple of years they leaked a lot of good players and ended up left with chaff. Realistically only T.T., J. T., DCE, Taupau, AFB and maybe Api would be assured of a first grade position in other clubs. A couple of the younger players such as Fainu and Suli would potentially get there and a fit Sironen and committed Walker would be in the mix. That means at this stage only six and potentially ten of the Manly squad could be assured of a first grade squad elsewhere. Now look at who we let go, or had pinched from under our guard.
It is therefore absolutely imperative that we seal up these young potential stars before other interested cocks in the coop come a'crowin'.
Alright I didn't realise that was 2020, my bad but I'd love to see Jorge in the 3,4 or 11-17Valid point CP. Of curse I'm not talking 2019, I'm talking 2020. Jorge will be 28 going on 29 that year. He's never been fast, and its likely he'll be a little slower by then. Great metre gainer but turn around speed isn't that quick. defends well at those coming at him, but can be out sped. Has always had a problem under the high ball. But saying that he has been a top competitor for us, and a few years back he was up there Certainly if he really puts in he may well have a few more years on the Manly wing. May also end up in the forwards. But they didn't bring in Suli to waste in reserves. Yes he has been over weight but plays it tough, quite a decent defender, and comes with a reputation of being something special who has lost his way. Who better than Hasler and co to lick him into shape. Based on potential he could well out Taufua Taufua in a year or so. And he has that asset Taufua doesn't have... young age
Well ... Bear is at least technically correct he is fauna ..... but this is the second seniors moment he has had this week .....
Hopefully good news on the horizon!
