I've been watching Humphries progress and im still not convinced he has all the attributes to be an elite half.
I hope he does, but, at this stage I feel Fogarty is the safer option.

Walsh plays on the left and Fogarty plays on the right. I’m thinking Walsh will play 6 for us so it doesn’t really matter how long Fogarty is with us for.

Not too sure that Brooks would necessarily wish to walk with one year still remaining on his deal for 27 .
Not even sure if Walsh would be suited to a 6 role either .
Then this type of discussion predicated on Walsh actually offering some top level footy into next season or considered good enough to displace or even on par with either Brooks or Fogarty .
Tend to think that Brooks can still be the best fit at 6 for another couple of seasons yet , so more on a Walsh - Fogarty option

Could have saved a whole lot of BS and not having to sign Fogarty, had we just kept Jamie Humphries all along.

Personally not convinced on Humphreys.

Much prefer Fog and Walsh.

Humphreys in 6 games has 2 try assists and 1 line break assist.

Tom Weaver in 3 games has 3 and 1
King-Togia in 2 games has 3 and 2
Ilias in 7 games has 4 and 4
Clifford in 7 games has 4 and 3

Finally some people all they do is read stats. The only stat that matters is the one you quoted is Humphreys a world beater? no but he the team functions and wins more when he plays.

If Humphreys is good enough for bennett it say's it all whether others are sold on him or not.

If he knew the DCE cash was available we could have easily matched Souths offer. My recollection was that Humphries had to wait a long time for his debut and was then not seen again. Could be wrong, but it sure gave the impression he was surplus to requirements. Anyway, water under the bridge.

How is he a safer option? One has more potential to grow and develop and the other is on the side of 30 with no premierships to his name.
Thurston was always sitting on the pine at the dogs until he went to the cowboys.

That's the key point

Nobody at the club really knew DCEs intention.
That's why I'm so filthy on him..
Makes out he's been really clear and wants the club to be in a position to find a replacement but in pre season ( after Humphrey's was already gone) DCE can be seen on The Manly Way asking to put Joey Walsh's locker next to his..
As if he was planning to bring the youngster on under his wing. And be part of the future coaching staff.

So that's in January 2025.. DCE is totally making out his all in with the club.. then he starts the season off with a bang.. in top form.

I've said this numerous times it was Round 3 and the Dylan Brown signing broke.. that's the point DCE and his management went to the Chooks.. DCEs mind set changed from that moment.

If Brown is worth 1.3mill then even in my last season or two im worth at least that much.
Would have been causing him sleepless night ( this guy makes Des look like Santa Clause)

He then knew all about Manlys salary cap and he could only be offered 750k.. the rest is history.

Interesting thing now is he's agitating an early release and has put that in motion with his
" smear campaign" and " i overheard a club official bag me out"..blah blah

Fair enough. From memory we were using him at hooker in reserves, so you can see why he’d want to move.
