A lot of what was in the article are true but it is far easier to stick your head in the sand and pretend things are well supported.

In reality if Barrett goes you will get either a rookie again or someone worse as per the article no coach worth it would come here with all the hurdles they have to overcome.

Being objective, there are many things that have gone against TB. Firstly the injury toll from hell is a major reason for our failure this season. The mismanagement of the cap and the dragged out process to clear our name is still not over!! The lack of leadership and discipline from the top is the major reason why we are in such a hole. This has to improve immediately if we are to recover. My grievances with TB are his negative and conservative tactics that have made watching Manly an alien experience for long-term fans like me, Also his reluctance to play young players unless forced to, the terrible management of the Hastings affair which split the team and sends a bad message out there! As a club, we need to get our act together on so many fronts!!

Not based on form from what we saw on Sunday, but what would a combined Manly / Chooks side from Sunday look like?

If I was picking it, the side would be:

Tedesco, Tupou, Mitchell, T. Trbojevic, Ferguson, DCE, Cronk, Taupau, Friend, Waerea-Hardgraves, Cordner, Radley, J. Trbojevic. Bench - Keary, Thompson, Fonua-Blake, Taukeiaho.

6 out of 17. And even 6 is iffy given I've probably been generous on the bench.

Head Coaching is about delegation of duties ie management strategy. Poor old Trent just hasn’t done the hard yards to earn his position legitimately. He will look back at his Manly days and realise it was a bridge too far at this stage of his career. It’s a pity he wasn’t working under a better mentor than Cartwright. I feel for the guy but he is getting tortured...and there is plenty more to come unfortunately.

I think its quite common knowledge that we have, if not the lowest, then one of the lowest funding for our off field footy department.

A bit hard to delegate duties when there is nobody to delegate too!

Donwe even have a recruitment manager yet???

Barrett is doing the job that other clubs provide 3, 4 or 5 other staff to do.

Results are crap, no doubt. But spare me the "just delegate" spiel.

The Penn's are running the club on the smell of an oily rag. I'd suggest pointing your anger at them, not Barrett.

I guarantee you if he had the resources of a Penrith, Broncos, Bulldogs, Storm etc he would be killing it.

I agree on Tom if position for position, although if the coach had our squad and their squad it'd still be a roughly even share of our players and chooks players in a team. Thompson has been awesome this season, one of our best.
