Gold Coast Bulletin – December 23, 2013
Albert Kelly could be forced to undergo career-threatening surgery with a rare form of vein infection in his foot bringing the Gold Coast Titans halfback’s stunning rise to a halt.
Kelly, who had a breakout season in 2013, was administered with a series of injections into his left foot in a bid to alleviate the condition which was originally thought to be a stress fracture.
The 22-year-old excitement machine has carried the problem throughout the pre-season and underwent the procedure just days before the Titans left for their Christmas break.
The problematic vein is close to a crucial nerve in the foot and there is a possibility it could be affected during the operation.
