In light of the recent lifetime offer to DCE coupled with the possibility Manly convincing Foz to stay with the offer of a lifetime deal, could the club be actually digging a hole, not once but twice, for themselves.

Article reports on contracts of five years plus offered to players in the past, when they were at the height of their game, who never saw them through.

It seems the lifetime deal will now become the new norm.

I think we have all had a lifetime of gutful over Foran and DCE and will they or wont they or are they or are they not staying.

Depends on the player. Some need to be playing for a contract and that seems to keep them sharp (Sandow is one who comes to mind here). Others I think need the mental security of a long term contract or they get distracted and anxious (I think DCE fits in here).
