Simple, it's Money.
The media don't want the many legions of fans of also-ran clubs (especially Eel and Dog, lol) to stop watching. Higher viewer numbers translates to more money.
They know fans of alive clubs will be watching the media anyway for any snippet of news. Which in Manly's case will be rare!!!

Yeah it's weird, he was building quite a resume for himself, apprenticeship if you will. Has he jumped too early into whatever was available at the time?!

Ryles will have some success, and probably a lot quicker than Arthur did. Huge western sydney fanbase, a brand new stadium every few years, heaps of juniors, plus the NRL would love nothing better than to see them do well (oops not that that could help them at all cough cough wink wink).
Will make a GF within 5 years, but ... win it? That's another matter.
Anyway he'll be a hero if he does, so good on him for aiming high.

He was one of the dumbest players ever to play the game.

Amazing he is so acclaimed as a coach. But I guess he has been at the Roosters and The Storm, I wonder if he'd be at the Tigers and the Titans would he'd be held in such esteem. I doubt it.
