Okay we have had our trials. Whats the line up going to be.. I noticed that Oldfield and T Rex were in the centres against the warriors.. could be a battle for Matai's spot.

1. Brett Stewart
2. Michael Robertson
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Michael Oldfield
5. David Williams
6. Kieran Foran
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Jason King
9. Matt Ballin
10. Brent Kite
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Shane Rodney
13. Glenn Stewart

14: Joe Gulavao
15. George Rose
17. Tony Williams
17. James Cunningham/Daniel Harrison/Jamie Buhrer/Darcy Lussick/Terense Seu Seu

Coach: Des Hasler.

I think the last bench spot really is up for grabs. Could depend on the game, injuries or form.

I think Oldfield will be Matais replacement and T Rex will finally be moved into the forwards.

Our depth looks weak as it is untested youth but they are promising.. it could go either way.

We had better not waste that last bench spot, like we have in recent years.

Play our full 17 for maximum impact and minimise the fatigue factor on our hooker & back rowers.

1. Brett Stewart
2. Michael Robertson
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Blake Davey ( a bolter )
5. David Williams (if he is Out )/ Tony Williams
6. Kieran Foran
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Jason King
9. Matt Ballin
10. Brent Kite
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Shane Rodney
13. Glenn Stewart

14: Joe Gulavao
15. George Rose
17. Terense Seu Seu
17. Daniel Harrison

T-Rex will be centre. We all know Des doesn't get adventurous when selecting his sides.

Has Cross played any of the trials ? We look to be a prop short in depth.

Blake Davey didn't go to NZ although he was originally named so I wouldn't think he is any chance. Gulavao would be doubtful, torn calf.

I don't see enough props in that side, especially since Rose only does short stints. Definately need 2 specialist props on the bench, or if you don't have 2, you need a big 2nd rower who is confident in his play at prop

davey was one of the most impressive in the first trial especially in defence can only assume he was injured. Would be my first pick for the centre spot

Jimmy cunningham should be our 4th prop.

I think that this will be our run on team but with Berkeley's bench of Joe, Rose, Seu Seu and Harrison.

If T-Rex is not in the backs, he is not in the squad (unless he has trained for the 2nd row in the offseason). Personally, would probably not play him at centre, Des may though instead of Oldfield.

Manly will learn today the seriousness of a hamstring injury to winger David Williams, though concerns over his potential absence were overshadowed by the encouraging return of exciting fullback Brett Stewart.

Stewart played 20 minutes in the 14-12 win over the Warriors, and is certain to be in the No.1 jumper for the round one meeting with Melbourne.

The Storm could be searching for a pair of centres with doubts over the availability of Beau Champion (calf) and Chase Stanley (knee).

Throw in a knee injury to backrower Sika Manu and it is immediately evident just how big an effect last year's salary cap scandal has had on the Storm's depth, with coach Craig Bellamy likely to be forced to turn to his juniors to cover for the injured brigade.

(Des Team)

01. Brett Stewart (Yaaaaaaay !)
02. Michael Robertson (Remember his combo's with bullett !! Pumped)
03. Tony Williams (I'd have Hoppa in there TBH)
04. Jamie Lyon (who else - always a pleasure to watch him play)
05. David Williams (Love his enthusiasm & a joy to watch - pace !)
06. Keiran Foran (Another year under his belt - nice !)
07. DCE (Could be a gun. A REAL gun)
08. Jason King (Apparently killing it this year)
09. Matt Ballin (Always consistent, always good)
10. Brent Kite (I thought he was fantastic last year. Will be good)
11. Anthony Watmough (SURELY has a point to prove. Will b dominant)
12. Shane Rodney (Love him. Does it all)
13. Glenn Stewart (Will b fresh. Should be 10X better with bullet there)

14. Terrence Seu Seu (I'd have L Foran to be honest. See below)
15. George Rose (Hopefully fitter and angrier)
16. Matt Cross (I'd give Cunningham / Lussick / Buhrer a shot though)
17. Joe Galuvao (Never let us down at all)

Liam Foran should be the utility. Why? He can play Hooker. But he can also slot into 1/2 back if and when (and we should all expect this to happen due to greenness) DCE has a shocker or two.

Every new 1/2 has growing pains. Liam Foran waiting there has many benefits, but Des will go with what he knows and go for Seu Seu.

King may be suspended and D Williams hamstring is another problem.  Cross played in our first trial and went very ordinary.

King was not cited !

Pretty much the YART team.

But with an exception if Wolfie isn't right Oldfield on to the wing.

Ryan i'm not a T-Rex basher but what makes you think he'd be a better centre than everyone else? He' slow and he's super timid for a bloke his size.

Yeah but what makes him think Des would put him there over Oldfield, Hoppa and the like? It makes as much sense as playing Cuthbo on the wing. He's a questionable defender and is often lazy.

Des likes him, end of story.

And when we're playing the Tigers, I'd have him marking Tuqiri, especially near the line.

But to mark tuqiri he'd have to play on the wing.

Not hard to get the bloke to shift over a spot in defence, he's surely not that dopey.

My team would be;

1. B.Stewart
2. M.Robertson
3. M.Oldfield
4. J.Lyon
5. D.Williams / Hoppa Jr. (If Williams injured)
6. K.Foran
7. D.Cherry-Evans
8. J.King / J.Cunningham (If King suspended)
9. M.Ballin
10. B.Kite
11. A.Watmough
12. S.Rodney
13. G.Stewart

14. J.Buhrer
15. J.Cunningham / M.Cross (If Cunningham starting)
16. G.Rose
17. Hoppa Jr. (if not in starting line up) / J.Gulavao

Hoppa getting a run off the bench given the question marks over Snake & Wookie thanks to injuries. Would expect that spot to be fought over by Nood, Lussick, Harrison & Robinson if all of the squad are fit.
