Manly signings effected by.....

maxta

First Grader
Manly were cleared of ALL the crazy - False accusations in the media circles over the past 18 months, just as B. Stewart was after being unfairly treated a few years ago....
It all seems a great result to fans that the name of the Manly Sea Eagles is found innocent and almost a relief after much public humiliation....over and over.
Well I see it differently - the lost sponsorship is a Massive unfair part of this circus, but really only the tip of the iceberg...
It effects the players, staff and management
Huge loss of revenue
NOW - It is DEFINATELY a negative effect on signing key players due to 3rd party sponsorships and the fact the club has been tarnished....yes proven to be a load of crap but the mud will always stick.
Its 1 thing for fans to hate Manly - in fact, I enjoy that part - but when its a major play on social media with no backbone its just crazy that they can get away with it - no retribution.
As far as I was aware there are defamation and slander cases here in Neon lights....
This has already cost Manly in many ways and is definately not a positive in signing players and keeping up with the squeaky clean Roosters/ bronco's and Storm who all have actually been guilty in the past but came out smelling like roses ??
Anyone looking as to why Manly struggle to sign players who opt elsewhere can be sure this has played a part.

Write this to Greenburg, who failed to back-up and support one of his teams.

Well we're still not cleared in the ongoing salary cap investigation. I'd think that this may have an impact on recruitment and sponsorship. Maybe if Greenturd drops dead this will be all over and the league will have an even playing field. Please santa :praying: I've been good...

I think we know it will all be "Manly cleared in Salary cap investigation" after the damage is done.
Meanwhile out Bondi way -they sign Angus Creighton with the NRL turning a blind eye somewhere toward the North....

Look I'm sure the NRL considers this an important issue and has assigned a highly qualified and highly paid team of investigators to look into Manly's past dealings. I'm not sure what the investigators are paid per hour... but they've only been working on this for 4 solid months, so I'm sure they can spin it out for another year and a half. Good lurk if you can get it.

To be fair, John Cartwright is also our recruitment manager these days. Not exactly an awe inspiring personality. He, along with no CEO, would be a very difficult sell. He was also the guy behind Ferris being here. If I have heard right, Peters (who actually had an amazing affinity & track record with season ticket holders, the players & sponsors) had every right to be a very unhappy camper (as I've been in his boat before), but that's all I'll say about that.

There is also great uncertainty about the coach (all be it, Bozo removed himself from the situation I believe to settle the situation & club in this aspect).

Then, as you have alluded to @maxta , our brand has been sullied over, and over, and over again, while Greenburg sits back and does nothing about it.

The strong clubs are getting stronger. The weaker clubs like The Tigers actually look to have quite a good team next season. Gosh, The Bulldogs pack includes Woods, Klemmer, (The Australian starting pair) Jackson, Tolman & many others. The league's getting tougher across the board.

I sincerely hope that Sipley & Gosi can make up the difference. We only finished 4 games above .500 this last season. We need to get our coach sorted. Lyal Gorman needs to come in. We need to announce something that resembles actual progression, to get season ticket holders and sponsors interested in us again - the last thing we want, is to become irrelevant. Basically, we need some form of progression.

The only off season news we've heard is slander about our brand, our marquee players getting serious injuries, and our coaches unwilling to extend their contracts.

Give credit to URM too for continuing to support the club while the allegations flooded in.

Can't wait to see what great sponsorship opportunities Joe Kelly negotiates for the rorters.
I gave you a like there @Loobs for giving credit to URM for standing by our club. A bit disappointing that they didn't get better exposure this year because of the lack of free to air games, especially in the first draw issued.
I'm sure the boys will work hard next year to get them on the telly in the finals and hopefully holding a cup.
