Am i the only one that reckons we played pretty bad and got away with it ? Silly erros that should have been turned into points or repeat sets, uncharacteristic errors. Im happy with our perfomance but it was far from clinical, warriors blew 2 tries ! in saying that it is also the first round and hopefully these little mistakes will be addressed !
I couldn't disagree more. I thought we were magnificent. Against a monsterous and talented team, 38,000 Kiwis, in the heat after returning from winter in England, with injuries and a sin-binning to still win was fantastic.
I think some posters forget that humans play this sport - the toughest in the world. None of us can really know what it is to be tackled by several huge men, be tired, and still produce some scintilating football. They are not machines. This talk about silly mistakes is crap. Fatigue, pain and a bloody good opposition causes errors.
Please celebrate the performance, not nit-pick. This Warriors club will be the benchmark, if not this season then very soon. They have dominated Toyota Cup, and have boundless talent coming through. It won't be long before we'll be calling for a second NZ team to help negate their advantage. Brisbane is one team in a city of 2-million. Warriors are one team in a country of 3-4-million.
Manly is one club between a few nice beaches. We do remarkable well to compete, let alone dominate. I'm thrilled with the win, knowing that the more NZ play the better they will become.
