Team Lists

I don’t think DCE and Munster work as a combo - they both like to play off the cuff. DCE is really a 5/8 and he needs an organiser halfback like Hunt to be effective. No wonder Ponga couldn’t get into the game.
I do not disagree but their forwards were their biggest issue tonight imo…

They got smashed in the centre of the park…

100% didn’t matter who they had in the halves.

Honestly Billy should never have picked dce though. Perfect time to start fresh after losing last series. Now what does he do, keep picking him or bite the bullet and move in?

Yeah I do not disagree… last year was a good excuse for a changing of the guard…

Seeing a lot of negativity in here, and fair enough because we clearly aren’t in a great spot currently. But I don’t think the team list is horrible, it’s just an effort thing to me. Turn up with some intensity in our runs not jogging and trying to do little side steps that nobody falls for in the middle of the field, and defend like we actually care about not losing 4 in a row at home and I actually think we can win. Let’s not forget they have been playing below their standards as well recently.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we’re winning this, but I don’t think it’ll be as bad as people are making it out to be.
Doesn’t matter what team is selected we have been inconsistent for 10 years now and that’s why a lot of people including myself have had enough but nothing will change while Penn runs the show he has zero idea when it comes to running a successful club and he is a tight arse with his money

Manly got close to the Broncs last encounter just over 12 months ago [ think that there was only a late field in it to the Broncs ] after a poor Manly i st half and guess that it could come down to how either side has improved or general form since then .
Broncs having major issues lately but still the makings of a competitive outfit .
Manly down Tent and Jake , indifferent form also, maybe one positive , Burbo and Bully , better playing form or more consistent this season .
Going to need some real good involvement from Lehi at the back , hopefully D C E and Brooks can manage important roles .
If Brown and Lodge can add something decent , sure is going to assist also and thought that Croker showed some willing intent last week despite his long break .
Bit reluctant to go along with it previously but in the present pack circumstances , could even be used a bit as a loose forward to stabilize the middle a bit and add a bit of variation there

I suspect Manly will win this one for two reasons. They are playing at home and don't want to embarrass themselves before their attending supporters. Secondly they don't want to embarrass themselves before their supporters in general after such a few poor displays recently. Hopefully also DCE will up his game after losing the SOO. He has much to prove if he wants to head to the hen house.

Not at all. It's just posters like yourself keep going on about us not having enough money to sign a decent forward or two. Apparently we could only afford stop gap older guys according to you. No one is accusing Seibold of anything other than spending the cap very poorly. You're just deflecting because you have had your pants pulled down.

675k for Flegler could have bought us a couple of YOUNGER MOBILE FORWARDS.

MAYBE EVEN A BACKROWER.
LOL.. you really got me my man. Well done. I see your friend brookie enjoyed it. I'm sure some high fives between yourselves?

I've gone on record saying I think Siebold is a mediocre coach and am happy to bag him where I see he's made mistakes.

But I will call out guys like yourself that Just outright make sh1t up about him. I'll do this for anyone. Because we have it on record from you that it's Siebold that makes the recruitment calls. Is that factual?

Well put al. Add to this their two best players are off the back of big origin loads and we certainly should be highly favoured. But like many views here, this team is a total coin toss in terms of results. Everything looks likely we could get up, but because of that we’ll probably lose again.

Definitely going to need a good night with completion rates and field position and may well be able to be in contention if they can at least get those basics right .
Going to have to be a lot more agile and eager in defence then that effort against the Eels and a bit of concern there with Lodge , Brown and Waddell in the lineup but ideally all can do better or work in a defensive line better .
Eels had quite a few things go their way and got their tails up and pretty much the opposite for Manly so a bit of luck returning their way will not go astray as well

All good coaches have a say in recruitment. So maybe you are right, and Seibold has nothing to do with it.
