Team Lists

Between 1967 and 2019 at Brookvale the Sharks and Manly played 40 games.
The Sharks won 5 times.
Manly never lost two consecutive Brookvale games in a row to the Sharks.

Since then the teams have met at Brookvale again in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The Sharks have won them all.
Of all the ways we have let our history down in the past 10 years, this is one of the worst, for those of us from the 70s.

Agree Tj55 - keeping Bullimor should be a high priority. It's seems increasingly clear that there's more a need for mobile forwards who play with impact than for big boppers. Having said that, having mobile big boppers, like Ollie, is the ideal, but they're in short supply. As he's progressed, I'm seeing more similarities between Bully and Watmough. Moving on to JakeT. He's not who he used to be but he's still got a Rolls Royce of an engine and one of the best defensive techniques in the game. But asking 80mins at prop is a big ask. I'd like to see 30mins each half and depending on the state of the game his defensive efforts in the final 30 could be crucial.

Wasn't even sure there were any of us left. Marvelous what a walking frame can do! 😀 Watched the video of the bloodbath GF not so long ago. They made 'em tough in those days!
There’s a few on here in their 70’s, I’ll be added to that list in December.

And yes we remember , the good old days.

I’ve attended every GF since 1973, I was only 17 in 1972 and my parents wouldn’t let me catch the train to Sydney for the game.

Those were the days

It’ll be interesting to see how we go with this ‘new look’ team on the weekend. Theres gunna be a fair bit of egg on faces around these parts if it’s a failure. Most here, including myself, have been calling for these changes so fingers crossed they work 🤞🏻😬
Of course it will work, how can 50 silvertail keyboard coaches get it wrong ?

Those were the Beginning of our Manly Glory days feathered friend
We hope that they will be many more to come in the future
Manly winning Premierships is the Pinnacle of our Legendary clubs Existence

I've been to every Manly GF since 1976 except 2007. That was a week after my dad passed away. 11 years now since the 2013 GF. Longest Manly GF drought ever. I hope I get to see one before I'm gone.

Can trump that - in 1951 I attended (with my grandfather) the GF manly Vs Souths at the old Sydney Sports Ground. Manly's best player -Wally O'Connell, could not play because of injury, and Johnny Graves broke my heart by scoring four tries for Souths.

You didn’t miss much in 07, and soon as they head highed Brett Stewart the game was over.

That would be a 16 week suspension these days

Wow. Just wow .....

The most outrageous non sendoff I have witnessed in my 62 (only), years watching Manly
It was blatant high play from not one but two players, resulting in a player being rubbed out for the remainder of the match. Either or both of Crocker and Slater should have been sent off.
