Matt Ballin for coach?

I reckon there’s a positive if the club lets him go early ( they probably won’t ) , and that’ll be we should get a player in return , from the list we need ( Prop, Back Rower , Lock , Hooker ) and some dollars in credit.

The years ****ed anyway , so here’s an opportunity to pick up a good player in a swap ( plus $$$) deal.

Yes we’ll have young Arthur as a halfback , and we probably won’t win many games with him BUT we aren’t going to win many anyway whilst the Dollar Chaser is playing silly buggers.

So for all the doom & gloom , this actually could be a positive.

Why not throw in Joey Walsh straight away? I dont think Arthur is a 1st option.
It speaks volumes when many other NRL clubs were chasing Walsh and no one was after Arthur.

Im just worried at 18 he’ll be crucified ( not by us but the opposition players ) and may never recover.

Think he needs 12 months in Reggie’s first

Oh if Joey Walsh ever actually makes it to play just 1 game of NRL, he will absolutely be crusified on here, no worry about that.

He's made out to be the next coming of Christ.

He's Just following in the shoes of this clubs last premiership winning halfback, Club Captain, State Captain, Kangaroo, and the most capped Sea Eagle in history.

This kids balls better drop soon enough, because it's yeah throw him in, no one will ever know the difference.

How are our last couple of Messiah's going? Ones in Gaol. Ones just taken a year off away from the game to help him refind himself after some struggles. Albert Hopoate decided he'd much prefer to play wing sometimes in the snow.

Every now and then a Lehi Hoppa who just is the real deal does come along, so who knows. But expectation and pressure. It can break the best of talents, and are we even sure this kid is NRL material yet?

What have we got to lose? Fogarty has only a few years left and Arthur is a NSW Cup standard half at best.

People used to bang on about the Walker Bros for a while but they seem to have dropped out of the limelight lately..

I had been waiting for their names to come up again the last 2 seasons. I recently heard the brothers had a coaching style fallout and only one of them left their dual ocaching gig. Not sure which one left coaching or how true..

Club coaching staff don 't always get it right but after that difficult start including that off season illness , Walsh has now progressed from Flegg to N S W cup and now in the i st grade reserve listing in a fairly short time .
So can only conclude that he is coming on quite well and is already in the main top 30 squad in any case .
Maybe quite a big ask to automatically slot into a i st grade 7 role during S O O but on present form , Munster and Deardon are going quite a bit better then D C E so the distinct possibility if Slater is fair dinkum that D C E may be even overlooked and still available for club duties .
Could be included on the Q L D bench and then could be the interesting situation whether Walsh could be given a shot .
Bit of a similar comparison with Humphrys but Humphrys had a bit more of a grounding in the lower grades before getting his opportunity .
Still , maybe not that bad a Roosters N S W cup lineup last week and Walsh did not seem overawed so may be not that far off competing at a higher level and could well be capable of offering more then Arthur

What have we got to lose?

Just potentially a decade long halfback.

Developing a player correctly is the difference between a Ash Taylor and a Harry Grant.

We want walsh for the next 10 years (fingers crossed) not the next ten weeks.

He may develop to what we hope, he msy not be the key thing is we let him develop.
