Matt Parcell

Parcell was the best hooker at the club when he was here. I don't understand why the appraisals of him in hindsight are so poor. He had Api on the bench for a good few matches there. If it weren't for the fact that Barrett couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag Parcell probably would be a sought after NRL hooker right now.

Lawton has played well for us as a stop-gap second rower but not sure just yet what he provides at dummy half. No doubt we'll get to see a bit more of him over the next few weeks.
He is much better as a backup 9 than second rower, and he has been handy at that.

Don't care if it is the ESL, he sure as heck done well in that highlight. Shame he went in some ways. Can't remember what his defence was like.

Yet another blunder made during those five years when Manly were in no where land. Gee they made some dumb decisions during that period .Lucky we had the Fulton clan finding some potentially top talent in the juniors otherwise Des would by trying to buy high priced goodies elsewhere and probably be worse off.

I’m interested to see how Hynes goes out of the Melb system. Always feel he looks a lot better than he really is cos he’s down there. Might be wrong he might be a gun at Cronulla. It wouldn’t surprise me if Meaney goes there and becomes a star.
Cade Cust is someone else who could perhaps achieve more by being patient at Manly and not looking elsewhere.

He looks pretty happy at the moment.

I don't understand why people blame the coach when players get moved on when said players then play less than a handful of NRL games for the rest of their career.

Tom Symonds - 0 NRL games and 12 Super League games, then retired
Blake Leary - 3 NRL games for the Cowboys, then went to England/USA
Matt Parcell - 0 NRL games and then went to Super League

As for Nicho Hynes, after being in our 2015 Holden Cup side he spent 3 full years in reserve grade elsewhere before his NRL debut at the Storm, and has only played 26 career games in 3 years since. In hindsight it's easy to say we should have kept him on the books until he came good, but in practice it's a bit trickier.
