Foran gone end of next year Schuster takes over. DCE we should unload end of 2023 so gives us 2 years to find a young up and coming replacement. Des will be here for at least another decade I reckon.

Our 6/7 post the DCE era is very much a looming issue.

We could of course just buy them in the market as what we pay Daly would fund anyone who would come .

DCE and Foz's contracts might finish in the same year, surely that could never happen.......again?

That is the tough call clubs have to make but going off lately the recruiting of the young guys coming through eg: Okalatu and Schuster Shows they can identify good players to keep and players to let go

Manly have the best young halves in the wings who will emerge by 2023 - 2024
If we look at 2022, I struggle to see him anywhere near the top 17, but in NZ there maybe more opportunities, so good luck to him.

He has the speed of a winger and the skills of a half. Would have made a good centre at Manly.

He is a highlights reel player, not an organiser or a steady half. We have Schu for the flashy stuff and the contingency plan should be developing an organiser, not another flashy half.

As for Metcalfe, he has great pace, and I hope he develops into a top NRL player, whether half or fullback. I'm not yet convinced he'll be a big star but either way letting him leave when we did was the right choice, for the club and for him.

I agree, as far as timing and other personnel is concerned, Metcalf is surplus to needs ... but .. if he becomes a star I am sure he will be elevated to feature in the annual "we we idiots to let him go thread" with a whole re-write of history ..

Kid is well travelled .. Cronulla > Manly > Cronulla > Warriors ... doesn't even unpack, and loyalty seems to not be an issue with him ..

If we try to keep everyone who MAY make it one day, we stand a good chance of losing the ones who WILL, or have already, made it.
