I agree with you %100. If people won't do the right thing willingly than - for their own good - they should be forced to comply. Let's not stop at Covid vaccinations however. Every year tobacco kills 24,000 Australians and 6,000 die from health conditions related to alcohol consumption. And yet - disgustingly - people can still buy cigarettes and alcohol. Do you know that 67% of Australians are overweight or obese and that 118 people die every single day from heart disease. And yet KFC can run adds glorifying how unhealthy their food is (I don't care, I love it). How many lives could we save by simply banning tobacco, alcohol and junk food, and making regular strenuous exercise compulsory.

By the way: we're not at war with nature we're at war with China. If we were at war with nature we'd be spending $100,000,000,000 on medical research and health facilities rather than on expanding the american Pacific Submarine Fleet.

Thing is he's right to point. Just depends where thT point sits in our expectations. Australia couldn't keep the doors locked forever. At some point we do need to get used to it because its not going away any time soon.

Sure we have to get used to it. But this bloke basically thru most of the restrictions out, and within a week NSW are putting up huge numbers. Not to mention the ridiculous scenario of the flights coming in, where a friend of ours was on, and they just randomly picked different rows to mask up for the flight, and other rows no mask.
And here’s a sad story from the local primary school that holds holiday activities. They boarded a bus to go to Varsity Lakes artificial rock climbing centre yesterday . On the way, a call came thru to one of the carers that she had tested positive to Covid. The bus driver was told to turn around immediately and return to the school, not before he got on the mic and told everyone onboard the bus why he had to turn around and go back. So you can imagine the panic that went through the bus. When it arrived back at the school, there were kids screaming and crying that they thought they were going to die, and parents that were just freaking out in general. They now have been told by Queensland health that everyone on the bus has to isolate at home for the next 14 days . So good luck telling primary school aged kids you will be spending two weeks in isolation including Christmas Day, and any holiday trips your parent/s had organised, around his time.

Hate to say it but thats a story told millions of times all over the world every day.
Millions have died and millions more may die but thats what happens when there is a pandemic.
Only thing we can do is manage the situation, get vaxed and carry on. People will die, kid will cry and **** wi happen but what else can we do? Stay locked away for the next 10 years?

Fair point but just like the Spainish flu and pandemic which by all accounts originated from a duck or poultry farm in the American mid west , this one [ covid ] most likely stated with some less then ideal hygiene in some Chinese " animal Wet market ' . Not really over population related if the source was from these markets . Think that Ebola for instance originated with some African villages going into some remote jungle areas or being exposed to some nasty jungle viruses so take your point there but every indication that covid maybe could have been avoided with some better hygiene practices . No doubt there will always be the Chinese military experiment theories but once the virus was circulating for some weeks world wide after some Chinese officials lack of urgency to contain it there , most likely would have had the same effect then whether the world "s population was 3 or 7 billion or whatever

Interesting that the major outbreaks in Oz have been on the two most populous cities....I think the rapid spread in Europe is because so many people in such a small area living so closely together.(it is how viruses survive)
There will be more cross species viruses coming Al because we are moving into areas and populating that humans have not lived before,wonder what delights will come from the Amazon.....
Overpopulation causes you to eat stuff like bats because you either eat that stuff or starve and when you want it fresh you get the problem

Friendly reminder, the pandemic has added a lot of stress to all our lives and there are many legitimate issues that have arisen as a result.
