Nail it or fail again? The pass mark for each NRL club and their coaches in 2019

Pass: The club narrowly missed the wooden spoon in 2018, but given Des Hasler’s previous success with the club, finals football will be the benchmark next season.

Fail: The club’s fans deserted the Sea Eagles in droves in 2018, so if the team can’t return to the top eight in 2019 the fans might not return to Brookvale.

Expectations: With a roster that boasts the Trbojevic brothers, Daly Cherry-Evans, Marty Taupau and Dylan Walker, Des Hasler’s return has the potential to make Manly one of the real movers in 2019.

That article is a bit of a reality check. There has been much merriment and optimism in these parts since the announcement of the second coming of Desmond. But the other clubs haven't exactly been idle, and most of them are also expecting to make the finals - or better.
For us to move up the ladder we not only need to improve (massively, in the case of our defence) but we also have to overtake other clubs, some of which will also be improving.
Every match will be a close encounter.
Following Manly next year might be a hair-raising experience - but I'm in!

Mate , I dont have any hair but Im in it with you all the way brother !!!

It is definitely not a fcking wooden spoon contender team . We have some of the most dominant state and international players along with other top quality and promising players in our squad regardless of our salary cap challenges .
This is a team that is capable .
I agree. There is plenty of talent there. Notwithstanding other teams in the competition will also improve, our team has so much more potential. The mood and vibe has lifted already. There has been positive movement in the coaching staff, as well as from the execs of the club and now the fans. The players feed off that positive energy and environment. We really need to get behind them next season and help push them towards the finals.

For sure Sparty !!! Thats the right attitude that builds winning cultures and not Excuses

With the roster and staff we have for 2019 I think we are all in for a sweet surprise.
There's something in the air.

Rugby league is one of the few team sports where a combination of not overly talented, young nufties combined with some skill in key positions ,with fitness and the right attitude can excel.
