News: Des keep options open

Winging it

THE weight of the Sea Eagles’ season is weighing down on Manly coach Des Hasler with three players emerging as genuine long-term replacements for super-star fullback Brett Stewart.

the real problem positions are half and centre.would be happy for hoppa to get a run but possibly whare and definitely hodkinson are the more mature blokes that give us specialists in each and every position and team balance.

havent seen enough of hoppa to know but supposedly there are huge raps on whare and bennet was ropeable to lose him.never seen him play mysef but is apparently big enough.

if no hoppa(and there wont be this week) would rather farrar than robbo.

there would be no real pressure on these young blokes as we have been written off by almost everyone as a title threat so it is a perfect scenario.the keatings, mannah and mortimer thrived on a no pressure environment last year.

is anyone here going to worry if we get beat by the eels while checking on their credentials of these tyros.

I dont see this as a single issue revolving around Snake & the FB spot.

Round 1 and the subsequent loss of BS suggests we need to take steps to move away from some of the current positional setup and make those bold decisions & reinvent ourselves.

Im just going to keep banging on about this.

can i bang with you.apparently what appears to be obvious to most is lost on some.

a look around the clubs makes it even more obvious.
Don't worry. Give them 18 weeks of Robbo scrambling and slipping and Williams falling off tackles for a 7-13 record and even they might begrudgingly admit that change is not a bad thing.

So its a gangbang then.

Bailey could cover fullback. Minimal disruption, as he wouldn't really be missed in the forwards.

Well at the very least, it opens up a spot for someone. Hopefully, Des learned his lesson in regards to Robbo at fullback last year (although probably not, knowing Des).

As callous as it sounds, they should forget about Brett playing again this year and develop someone new...NOT Robbo!

Farrar, Whare or Foran. At some stage give young Hoppa a go, but not for a few months.
