Aah the old "Bears Den"....I must say I don't miss the Northern Eagle days....I was on OEE back then and man oh man there were some wars over there.

I used to stay out of it I must say as "who cares who has the biggest sand pit"

Einstein's formula for the finals was, I believe:

F = MR[sup]2[/sup]/C

Top Four = number of Matches left X [top speed of George Rose] squared, divided by the speed of light

Manly Top Four = 3 games x 53 kph (disputed and squared) / 299792 kph
{as measured and viewed from Brookvale Oval}

A guy by the name of Brian (Bryan) Gaensler (who went on to become a young Australian of the Year) had a website forum...mid 90's to late 90's I think. I forget the name of it but I was a regular on there.

he closed that down and went to the USA for work, I actually met him once on the plane travelling Moree to Sydney, wearing a Manly Cap of all things.

Then Aaron started OEE

Bryan never actually closed down the website.  He just froze it (his words) at the end of the 1998 season. It is still a great read.

1998, brings back some memories after attending the 1997 Final, and very much the start of the "Dark Days"
