Reminds me of when John Devereux broke his jaw against Mal Meninga's shoulder when playing for Wales against Australia during the 1994 Kangaroo Tour. He broke it in two places and there was blood everywhere.

Yes in 1993. Played 15 games (13 at centre, 2 on the wing, one off the bench), scored 2 tries and kicked 2/4 goals.
Ironically in 1993, Mal Meninga was suspended for 2 games for a high shot on Devereux. It cost Mal a spot in the first test against NZ at Mt Smart, the one that ended in a 14-All draw.
