You've never heard the term "kicked the bucket" meaning someone died?
In your post that I quoted, the coach literally grabbed a bucket from under a player's seat and kicks it.

Ah, sorry. I missed the obvious one! I'm so used to seeing the coach kick a bucket (or anything else nearby) when his team is losing, usually after screaming it's "friggen" embarrassing that I missed the reference. (D'oh)
