Exactly like Marty Taupau when he hit Jack Bird in Rd.3 at Brookie last year. If Slater wasn't already on his way down then Soliola would have likely hit him on the upper arm or shoulder.
However there was a slight difference in the two hits. Kapow was already in motion for the hit when Bird started falling. Soliola didn't swing his arm until about a second or so after Slater released the ball.
Let's not forget that if you play for Manly there is always "intent", even if the opposition player was falling from a helicopter.
About to show the replay now. Can't wait, it's so funny watching Sticky trying to deflect attention from his lack of coaching ability.

Slater Sliced in two
Thanks for that clip Harry. As bad as it looks, if Slater dummys, turns and stays on his feet, instead of passing and falling, that tackle would have been spot on I reckon. There are seconds in it.
edit: I just watched it again and the swinging of the right arm is a problem.

While Ricky Stuart is correct in saying that the referees need to be accountable for their performances, the guy is a serial whinger. Whenever his team loses (and its been happening since he was at the Chooks, including when he coached NSW and Australia), its never that his team didn't play well enough or that the opposition was too good on the day. To listen to Stuart its all the referees fault every time he loses.
Case in point, the 2008 World Cup Final. Australia lost because they made some bad mistakes during the game which the Kiwis were able to capitalise on. But what was Stuart's response? Take it on the chin? Nope. First he blasts team manager Geoff Carr over the scheduling and then the morning after the game, in full view of witnesses in the teams hotel lobby, he blasted the ref (Ashley Klein) for cheating his team out of a win.
Its never his or his team's fault, its always someone else's fault
And lets face it, while there were some dodgy calls, he really has no right to whinge tonight. For all intents and purposes his side should have been a man down for the last 30 minutes.
Didn't mention that in his post match presser did he.....
