These articles always seem a bit desperate and opportunistic.

Here's an idea, pay back your debts from 1999 ($4 million ish from memory, something that never fits the narrative in these articles for some reason), pick an area (Central Coast, Brisbane, Perth etc) and rebuild the club to the NRL level from there.

They've got a good NSW Cup team at the moment. Focus on that, build it up and grow it to the stage where the community, councils, government, sponsors and the NRL gives them a chance.

Genuinely wish them all the best, but future licenses are going to go to whomever submits the most practical and suitable business proposal. Not the most.

This is just getting embarrassing for anyone associated with the Bears. With zero chance of gaining a license under their own steam, they desperately try and attach themselves like a parasite to any other bid that has a semblance of a chance....WA, second NZ team and now a PNG / Pacific Islands team.
How true, because Albo wants to ingratiate himself with the PNG government by allowing an NRL there, the Bears like always seem to sniff out an opportunity to throw their hat in, as usual.
Does that mean if Albo wanted to suck up to North Korea by letting them have an NRL team, would the Bears see this as an opportunity to join the consortium of Kim Jong Un and play out of Pyonyang, with the obligatory two games at North Sydney Oval.

North Korean Bears sounds wonderful.
