POWERHOUSE prop Marty Taupau has given the Sea Eagles a big vote of confidence by declaring he wants to play out his career with the club.

He made the revelation as he prepares to play his 100th NRL game this Sunday afternoon against his old club the Wests Tigers at Lottoland.

The forward, who has added some real authority to the Manly pack and puts fear into the opposition, is justifiably proud about reaching his career milestone.

Taupau made his first grade debut for the Bulldogs in 2010 and Sunday will be his 34th game with Manly.

“It’s never something I really thought about, when I started playing it was just about trying to string together some games,” Taupau said.

“I’ve come a long way, and now we are here about to play my 100th on the weekend. It’s pretty ironic playing against my former club, I’ve got really good mates over there at the Tigers as well. So it will be something special, especially at Lottoland.”

The 27-year-old is set to achieve a lot more career achievements at Manly as he is under contract until 2020.

And this is the club where he wants to stay.

“The reason I signed a long contract is I’m happy how things have gone and where I want to be,” Taupau said.

“I’ve got the beaches, a great playing group, a legendary club, so I can’t complain.”

Taupau is a harsh marker when it comes to his own form, but conceded he was pretty happy how things are going at the moment.

“To be honest, it’s not great, it could be better,” he said.

Kapow has had a similar effect on the pack as Ben Kennedy had. He's given them a level of mongrel. We now have a pack that is feared, which is great as it's been a few years since we've been able to claim this.

Without my favourite Stevie Matai, Marty is filling the void for a fearsome Kiwi with cornrows.
Some players take a while to become Manly but as soon as Marty put on the jersey he was a Mighty Sea Eagle.
Glad he's happy to stay. Particularly happy to have him.
Go get those tigpies Marty!
