NRL v AFL GF Day

For me I like the current slot.

Not to early. Not to late.

I like the build up to a later gf and the fireworks. Especially as our game is shorter.

But that's just me.

The Tigers song sung 100 times in a row reminded me of the 2011 NRL GF when Eagles rock was replayed & sung many many times at the stadium. What a day!

Well one things different, some people paid thousands ( many) to even get in to the MCG.

The Tigers had 76,000 members with most wanting tickets, there were 20,000 seats available.

Apparently they are giving away tickets to tomorrow’s game just to fill it up!!

I saw some half price Tier 1 tickets for sale on Facebook today, they kept dropping in price.

I didn't really care who won until I saw the National anthem and Adelaide did the big "stand still with an aggressive stance scowling at the opposition..then under no circumstances move until Richmond moved away after the anthem."

Looked like a pack of douchebags.... and so was happy that Richmond won their first flag in 37 years.

Yellow and Black!

I guess there's no irony to the big bad f/u actions by adelaide turning into a bunch of criers at the end of the game.

There is one constant between the AFL and NRL Grand Finals. The majority of the venue's tickets are taken up by league members and corporates, most of who are there to be seen and schmooze and most usually barrack for a team not even playing. Adelaide and Richmond each only had 20,000 tickets allocated for yesterday's game. Taking out the MCC members (about 15k), that left around 45,000 tickets allocated to the AFL's members and corporate sponsors.

In short, its the actual fans of the teams that are playing who generally miss out.

Interestingly AFL was supposed to kick off at 2:30 and kicked off on the dot. NRL are supposed to kick off at 7:15 but will kick off a fair bit afterwards

They don't kick off in VFL from memory, doesn't the white maggot bonce the ball on the ground or some stupid **** like that??

To me it's
1. The NRL wins in the product stakes.
2. Doesn't know what to do with it.
On the 1st, the NRL is like Neville Glover with the line wide open, just doesn't know what to do with it.
Also, and this is worse, I feel it compares itself with sports like the NFL. But it's not. And never will be.
Though it's abilities are low it's self opinion is high and we don't matter.
Eg. Turdburger is STILL yes STILL banging the big, empty stadium drum.
Perfect opportunity missed to hammer for suburban grounds.
F*ck me I'm massively hungover and these self opinionated pr*cks just frustrate me even more than normal.

Thanks for listening.

I think I spotted a few Richmond fans in the crowd yesterday. Didn't look like corporate types.

Yeah there were a lot of Richmond fans there, but being Melbourne I'm not surprised. I'd guess that there would have been more than a few Melbourne based corporates there who are Tigers fans.
