OMG Baz

First Grader
I just seen our post game interview from when we got slightly shafted in Brisbane.

For the first time ever, our coach actually appears to be, well, a coach. And one comfortable in his own shoes!

Calm. Composed. He hits some solid points. Players will be better for the run.

But wait for it......Confidence from a loss.."we will compete with anyone, and we will win more than we lose."

Yeah Nah for the first time ever looks comfortable in his own ability.

He is actually acting like a coach. And when i start seeing a coach saying things that can build the self belief in the team own ability. In my very humble opinion, he is acting like a good one.

Not at all what I was expecting from this loss.

I really like him as a coach and so do the players. Though I fear if we miss the top 8 he will be shafted. I'd re sign him. He's made some excellent big decisions with the team like DCE to skipper who has returned to form and inspired the team, Taupau to front row where he has become the most dangerous forward on the comp, Jake to lock which has pushed him too rep honours and great footy. And he's resurrected some players careers like AFB and Uate. Well done Baz. I will disappointed to see him go but it looks the most likely outcome if we miss the top 8.

Barrett's selections are at times perplexing. We have a problem with goal kicking and he conures to keep our best goal kicker (Hastings) on the bench and picks Wright. When you are in a hole stop digging!!!!
If he had of picked Hastings it would have changed the whole game plan that we have been using.

Seriously? And what would that do to the endless video sessions the other coaches watch of the opposition?
Or are our players too stooped to adjust?
Just wondering.

He will be retained for 2018 no matter the table this year

If he makes the 8 this year, or looks likely to make the 8 towards the end of the season, I can see him being extended beyond 18. If we fall a part over the next 3 months, they may look in a different direction. He has the players in his corner which counts for a lot as long as the side is improving. The one thing I am perplexed about is that there seems to be nothing on our recruitment radar for 2018 and beyond.
Can only assume several back ended/paying overs type contracts for the likes of Kapow, Walker etc. That, or its a deliberate strategy to wait and see what clubs are desperate to offload players later in the year to fit the salary cap for next year. We really need a Josh Jackson/Cordner/Graham/Gillette type back rower or two!

Yeah, yeah. So why is Poo an automatic selection, particularly as we have Lussick and Perrett now available?
Until Poo gets dropped for his continual under performance I will doubt Twenty's ability to pick worthy players in the top 17.

Bench of Myles, AFB, Lussick and Perrett?
