The Broncos have been rocked by a horror training session that resulted in four stars being injured and ruled out of their Round 16 clash with the Sharks on Sunday.

Wide World of Sports reported Karmichael Hunt, Ben Te’o, Albert Kelly and Brendan Piakura all copped injuries in the same training session, which doesn’t speak wonders of their new Head of Performance.

“Dave Ballard is the new strength and conditioning coach at the Brisbane Broncos and on Sunday a brutal training session turned bad,” Channel 9s Ben Dobbin said.

“Karmichael Hunt tore his calf, Ben Te’o tore his calf and Albert Kelly tore his hamstring, and Brendan Piakura damaged his ankle.

Must admit, there's been less of an outcry than I thought with Cleary getting injured in SOO with regards to club-land footy.

Another bonus for the eels...

Seriously what is it about Parra luck with its opposition. They draw Melb in a monsoon, a completely injury ravaged Easts and now Penrith on the back of their best player not being there.

North Queensland CEO Jeff Reibel said Saturday's clash with Newcastle is not in doubt as long as all players return negative COVID-19 tests after coach Todd Payten was forced to isolate as a close contact.

Payten will miss the Cowboys' next two games after being sent into a 14-day isolation due to close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in Townsville.

Nathan Cleary could return to the NRL within a month if he isn't told that he needs immediate shoulder surgery.

Well...that's not wishy washy at all!

Cleary won't need surgery until after the season.
