Our baby Sea Eagles

Reserve Grader
I use to call our under 20s side the baby Sea Eagles. But compared to the rest of the competition, I reckon you could use it for most of the guys in our current first grade side!

On Sunday afternoon, we played with a team that had an average age of 24 with six players aged 22 or younger. This will be even more when we get a fully fit side, with players like Croker, Tommy T aged 22, and Suli aged 20.

It is incredible what these young guys are doing. But our older and more experienced players are just as important to thank, with their guidance and mentoring giving massive self-belief and confidence to the whole squad. It is honestly such a perfect balance of young and old.

And the depth we FINALLY have is so comforting. This is all the way down to our junior representative sides, particularly today after the New South Wales under 18s side was announced, where six Manly players made the squad. Funnily enough - our boys make up three out of the six starting forwards, and three of four bench spots. These boys include Sione Fainu (#10), Joshua Schuster (#12), Siua Fotu (#13), Kaeo Weekes (#14), Ben Trbojevic (#15), and Alec Tuitavake (#16).

As you probably notice, there's a Fainu and a Trbojevic there - yep more brothers!!!!

It is so awesome to see the culture at the club, and the talent we are producing and forming. I really hope we can sign up some of these young guys, because I cannot wait to see how they progress all the way to first grade!

So in the future we will be hearing something like this:

Trbojevic gets tackled, plays the ball to fainu who passes to trbojevic who passes short at the line to fainu who makes a break straight up the middle and offloads to trbojevic for a wonderful try under the posts... great lead up play by fainu and trbojevic!
Trbojevic will throw this over Brandy

Welcome back @Ella Kasmar and keep up with your up beat positive posts !!!

Thank you!!!

Where did you see that team announced Ella?

Link?

Manase posted it on his insta story congratulating his brother 🙂 Attached a screenshot below

I notice that Schuster has been picked in the second row.
The player with the most appropriate name in Australian sport, Bradman Best, is at fullback. I've only seen him play once and he was outstanding.
He'll be blocked from playing fullback at the Knights by Pongia, so he'll have to make his debut in the NRL as a centre or a winger.
I imagine Newcastle have him tied up, but I'll never underestimate Easts from managing to recruit anyone they want.

Can I thank you for your well considered, well articulated thoughts. Can I also say this is totally against the principles of this site! We bicker, argue, somewhat insult other silvertail's opinions. Having a rational thought is not permitted. So in advance I thank you.

Pffft, Ella only posted as her younger brother joined up and she's now not the cool one...

So nice to read a thread that hasn't disintegrated into a rant about politics.
