Koula and Hopoate both named for the Tongan squad. By the looks of things, Hoppa will be their fullback again, and Koula will be their first choice centre. Eels fullback Iongi is also in the squad, but he’ll likely be the 6. No Taukeiaho, which is strange to me, but it’s an area where they are well stocked. Olakau’atu and Paseka would likely both be playing, if it weren’t for injury.

Mafoa and Navale both in Fiji squad.

As for ex-players, Fainus are also with Fiji. Tevaga with Samoa. Hughes seemed to have a pretty bad injury, so Foran will likely get a Kiwis farewell.

Overall I’m rooting for Tonga in this one! That said, I would love to see Foran get some silverware on his way out.

PM’s XIII with Saab is on this Sunday at 4:05pm, first Pacific Championship / Cup game is the weekend after, 18th of October.

Would have to be out worst year ever I would think for representative players selection. None in Kangaroos, Kiwis or Samoa. Hoppa and Koula in Tonga, Saab in PM XIII.
