The Buzz in this mornings Tele questions the contradictory nature of the silence from the NRL and Parramatta .....

Some of these sponsors shout from the rooftops when it suits them to get out of a contract or have an opportunity to virtue signal by being offended ..... what should be the response of the NRL ... ?????

Well you did ask what should be as you know what will be, so you know what's going to happen, as we all do.

I predict either 'nothing' or "drugs are bad M'kay" will be the only things the nrl will do.

What they should do? I dunno. Be interesting to hear others. Can they do anything but go tsk tsk and say that it's up to Aland to take any appropriate action they think is fit?

If they have the power to approve sponsors or not, I cant see them telling Aland to go jump. "It would unfairly hurt the parra fans and players who have dont nothing wrong," the nrl would say (except for being parra fans and players.)

Assuming the world of capitalism absolves Aland of any 'punishment' from the nrl, maybe they should ask that Aland fund an anti-drugs campaign on behalf of the nrl.

Yep, interesting situation .... if they remain silent and don't censure Aland ..(or specifically the individual) ... then they are guilty of pragmatism over consistency.. money over principle .... puts Toddy in a difficult spot next time he wants to be all offended and outraged .....
