More of a mystery is what happened to the concrete walkway tunnel that once cut through the Brookie hill, why was it filled in and what is now inside it?

Can see the tunnel at 20 seconds here in this 1978 game.

This has been discussed previously.

That was removed, c.1993,* obviously along with the section of the hill that curved around the southeastern corner.

There were concerns re: the structural integrity of the tunnel, presumably after more than twenty years of moisture soaking into the concrete roof structure, etc.

*From memory, I believe it was gone before construction started on the Ken Arthurson Stand. Work on the stand started after the 1994 season.
