PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Manly v Cowboys [Round 14, 2021]

If we had better cover for our origin trio it would be nice to rest them all. However given our poor start, no Schuey to cover Chez, exactly zero forwards left to replace Jake, no one that can hold a candle to Turbo and the fact that they are our three most dedicated and competitive players, if they're fit they play.

Best case scenario
Tom. Jake and DCE play, Cust pulls out injured, Schu to 2nd row, Lawton to bench with Sippers, Burbo and Kurt.

We would win.
Team as listed and Tom out...we lose.

Is it just me or is this thread less active as a sticky? Pregame threads usually hover near the top so might not be the best thread to sticky. I often scroll straight past the stickies as they are slower moving threads.

I think the thread was made quite early because of Manly's bye (and @Jethro is an efficient champion) and was stickied as the thought was the game is so far away the thread would get lost on page 2,3,4,5,or w/e.

Then... as all mods were partying on Dan's super yacht rolling around in all the ST gold and booze and food and good looking people of our choosing - all of us forgot to "un-sticky" it.

Yeah I often disregard the stickys

But...but...but a post you created is a sticky... you have to read them! (lol)
Also lord knows why there isnt just one match thread for pre, during and post discussion.

No idea the reasoning behind 3

I know. (gold star)

Many forums break the game into three threads. Not everyone wants to trawl through 20+ pages of emotional gibberish we all (esp me) post during the actual game but want to discuss the game after they watched it.

Post game thread gives that.

It's the forum equivalent of a full stop.

Pre game: - Here's the team(s) and how we think we'll go. What ^**# selections by Des
Game day: - omg ^$@* refs, $&*@ selections, @#%% players, hey we won! Awesome!
Post game: - Less emotional analysis and our resident storm troll heads in to tell us why we were lucky that we won.

We've always had pre and game day threads. One extra thread has been added - a post game discussion thread.

Now I've explained that... off to solve the mid east crises and get food to starving children.

woohoo!

go Manly

All this talk of stickiness and what not.

I dunno 40 cows are hardly world beaters. We can beat them with Tom out I think. Helps its at home. Every chance Holmes may be rested too. We’ll see I guess. I’m hoping for an injury free game tonight for our guys.

There is a lot of doubt about the final composition of the team for Friday's game. It appears Des may be considering many factors, including availability of our Origin players, availability of Cowboys' Origin players and fitness of some players in the 21. We should be prepared for surprises (wanted or unwanted).
