Which is why I wouldn't mind seeing (until Api returns) Croker at 5/8 and Cust used off the bench as the backup half / hooker. Not sure what Des is thinking though (does anyone ever know what he's thinking? lol).

From what I saw the effort was there . We outscored the opposition .
We lost some other scoring opportunities and some kicks for goal that could have made a difference in winning the game .
We were cained in the penalties and did not complete our sets as well as we have been and this lack of possession would have made us flat out making extra tackles .
I personally did not see any lack of hunger to win . Execution was our problem .

The refs were the problem... and taupaus offload

completion rate not up to standard
defensive lapses

But we still scored more tries and nearly won the game . Thats how good we are mate and we are going to smash the eels at home !!!
