The way Meninga was talking a while back (about 2-3 months) this game was going to be something of a Kangaroos selection trial for those not currently in the finals.

Then of course he went and picked 1nglis as the captain while the entire 3/4 line (including 1nglis) is made up of the current Kangaroos test 3/4's.

At this stage however I'd wager that Mal has pretty much got his squad selected by now with only injuries to dictate who gets in and who doesn't regardless of the result of this game.

The only thing I hope is that Jake has managed to play himself into a Kangaroos jumper today.

No doubt being the big league fan that he is he would've been upset at missing the game, instead having to drop into Hawaii with his missus for a knees up. Maybe next time.

This may be a dumb question, but ive always wondered why they call it the prime ministers 13... Do they not carry 4 bench players? Or does the pm just not give af unless they are in the starting line up lol

I think Bill shorten got to select the bench. The amount of wheeling and dealing that went on between the players' union and labor hq was mind boggling. Brown paper bags, marathon piss-ups at the Sussex St Chinese etc
