It's like Manly vs the Sharks.

The Sharks might get a sniff every once in a while but you know that Manly will win in the end.

Shame i've picked the 'sharks' in this one  :'(

Who would have though that a SOO could come down to how two manly players play. For mine it is all about the Lyon/Hayne Combination, that is if Hayne moves to full back. Unfortunately Lyon won't see the ball when this happens because the good for nothin, overrated, underperforming, arse clown ****ing, bellamy sucking cock knob known as the NSW captain is a ****ing ball hog when there is a wealth more talent outside of him. Might cut it against Penrith on sunday arvo but not against queensland.

Watch for Kidley to run Lyon out of space, or stop Lyon from getting on the outside of his man because of how Kidley "drifts" across field.

Hopefully when Kidley is playing fullback, killer will throw cut out pass after cut out pass to Tahu or Hayne.

The other manly player was Choc, hopefully he can fire up!

i love that I am not alone in thinking Gidley is perhaps the most overrated player going around

Will be interesting to see how Ballin goes if Scam Smith doesn't make the game

Am not a fan of the NSW team picked, but I also remember that is was 5 years ago that people were declaring Origin dead because of NSW domination. Things are never far apart in this game

Am going to game 2, will I make it out alive if I wear a NSW jersey along ?

Queenslanders are certainly more passionate that NSW when it comes to Origin, at least that has been my experience.

It actually matters up here

I realise I have destroyed more than a few brain cells over the years but I'm feeling pretty confident that the blues will break there drought.
Whilst I would of picked Gallen over Creagh and played a specialist fullback, I just think sheer determination will get the boys over the line.

without gallen there is 80% less penalities and 40% less drop ball.

No Dan. You're definitely not alone in your thinking of Kidley.  You can chalk me up as well.

Kiwi, I love the new nickname for Cam Smith.  It fits him well.

A Kiwi in a Blue jumper, probably not.

That just reminds me of Tonie Carroll, the Kiwi who wore a QLD jersey but couldn't make up his mind what country that he wanted to represent and played for both Kiwiland and Australia.

Seeing as people wish to make an issue of Queensland bred players turning out for other countries (eg Lam etc), let's not forget:

David Barnhill (so blue and blarney).
Graham Mackay (A Scot long before Robbo)
Willie Mason (Kiwi born and Tongan World Cup player)
Luke Ricketson (a very pretty blarney)

Of course, perhaps you should excise Peter Sterling from the Blue's hall of fame for having the temerity to be born in Toowoomba.

LOL, the desperate old Peter Sterling line, that one would work a lot better for the Qlders if the rules were State of Birth, but they aren't

Don't even mention that mongrels name Jethro ! It still makes me sick how he used the Kiwi jumper
What did he use it for? Its ok if he used it for a Nate Myles incident

Ditto Folou and Inglis then.

Sterlo left Queensland when he was, what, two years old or something? Gi played his first game in Queensland when he was 17!

As for Folau he didn't move to Queensland until he was 14.

I think the Sterlo example applies more to someone like Sam Thaiday who was born in Sydney but moved to Queensland when he was a very young fella.

Post 20.

Yeah have seen that, but still, rules are rules and should have been adhered too. At the time when allegiance is decided, he was a NSW player

Kiwi you'll make it out alive BUT a couple of warnings

1) Avoid the Caxton carpark bar wearing anything blue....they will lynch you!!
2) Avoid Caxton street walking out after the game wearing anything blue...they will lynch you!!
3) Inside the game wear blue and be proud....outside be smart and put a coast on.

I am in my mid 50's so well past "fighting days" but let me tell you the chances of geting in a full on "blue" (if you are up for it) is very high.....after game 3 last year I thought I was going to be murdered coming out.

BUT it's a fabulous atmosphere and you'll love it!!
