Lurch O'Neil, from Wikipedia;
"A tall and strongly framed man, O'Neill was able to develop consistently as he built up his weight from 88 kilograms or 13 stone 12 pounds in 1965 to 104 kilograms or 16 stone 5 pounds by 1970"
When he was at Manly in the early 70s he may have been a bit bigger but he was a real giant back then, I can't think of any bigger players
(apart from one or two weighty Pommies who came out to play with sides like North Sydney)
(lol)

I remember Steve Edmed talking about how the Tigers pack of the late 80s was the first to have five "100's" in their ranks, in other words players tipping the scales at more than 100kgs. He was second to Sironen, who was easily the biggest in the comp at 110kg at the time. (And Cliffy Lyons still punched the crap out of him...).

No.

You want them to make an impact for the entire season.
I agree with you that we want our players to make an impact the entire season but I was happy to see Darcy come of age towards the end of 2016 and hopefully this will be a confidence booster for him in 2017.

That might have been the one I was thinking of. Good pickup and just shows how much things have changed.

Don't forget Shaun Lane 115

good point and with Buhrer gone he is likely to be starting.

We could easily line up with:

8 Lussick 114
9 Parcell 88
10 AFB 118
11 Lane 115
12 Taupau 112
13 J Turbo 108

14 Brown 97
15 Myles 106
16 Lawrence 106
17 Meehan 120 (he will shed plenty to play NRL)

Average 108.4

Possibly you could argue drop Meehan for Api (to utility), Brown for Lane (lane to bench)

still tipping the scales at 105.
