Match Stats

Usually pretty positive, but think the season is probably gone, think it is time to give a few young guys a shot in the forwards to move ahead.
Next week for me the forwards would be.
Lodge
Tevaga
Taukeiaho
Hart
Mafoa
Navale
Bench.....
Simpkin
Muagututia
Bullemor
Laiafi
Don't think we need to throw the kids to to the wolves, but would rather see a poor scoreline and give a few a run for the future.
Tell me I'm dreamin',I know that side will never be picked.
Largely agree Smokin except for Simpkins to start at 9
I thought he was great last night, in fact i actually thought our forwards were pretty bloody good they had us on raider line for a large chunk of that game. But it was Raiders offside and and sliding defence that thwarted us , along with inept attack options from DCE mainly, i know Brooks had a dud in goal kick as well .
Brooks i thought tried his guts out tbh but not helped by DCE and his pathetic D
But yes lets sprinkle a little bit of youth in next weeks team , id like to see a young FR and SR be on the bench if possible

Interesting what CH9’s Gus Gould said,

“With this game being so important to Manly with such experienced playmakers, I was shocked the way Manly attacked tonight,"
he said on Nine's Friday Night Golden Point.
"It was like they'd never seen the Raiders play, they kept falling into the trap by trying to go around them on their tryline.“

Koula should be full back he needs to touch the ball more in broken play. I'd let hoppa go Tommorrow along with Tommy, jake, burbo, waddle, dce, brooks, Croker, sipley then we'd have some money to fix this rubbish (and probably Garrick cause he's on to much money for a winger).
Let Hoppa go tomorrow? I agree Koula should be given a crack at fullback now but no way should we be letting another of our talented juniors go, we've been through this enough in recent years. Sure Hoppa didn't have the best few weeks there but I think he was more a victim of us moving him around and still trying to make a busted Turbo work.

Statistically one of the best wingers in the comp over the first half of the season and should go back there to finish the year, especially over Saab ffs. I've never been too anti-Saab but I can't see the point of him in the team while our attack is too useless to use him properly, right now we are only really getting the bad parts of his game. He was also going to be dropped for the last Tigers game until Talau was ruled out late, but has kept the spot ever since despite not really doing anything to deserve to keep it? Don't mean to single him out but the reality is I would happily piss off anyone that played for us last night excluding Koula and Bullemor.

Koula should not have to be burdened with the tremendous amount of team-first responsibilities that come with today's fullback role.

He is all instinct and athleticism. Why blunt his strengths when we have other more suitable options?

Besides, a decent playmaker and threatening backrower is really all he needs to be fully utilised, and we don't have a more damaging centre at the club anyway

Mafoa on an edge? Is this something he could excel at? It would be great to have more firepower in our second row

Love what Thurston said about DCE not taking on the line. he looks so fresh after every game. never gets tackled ( if you guys watch every manly game, DCE just passes the ball for others to get smashed) DCE also doesnt go in hard to tackle . he just tries to grab Ethan Strange. what a joke.
Compare him to someone like Foran, two worlds apart with how they’re willing to put their body on the line, team first mentality and how Foran respectfully announced his retirement.

Wow I just watched the press conference
"Really proud of the boys"
This statement is like flogging a dead race horse how does the coach keep saying this

Just another inspid performance
Yes we had no forward pack or backrow but we still had enough talent to win last night but we just are not up to it.
Can't see us winning again this year why bother when your captain is leaving
I can't wait to see the back of DCE destroyed this season

7 seconds a new record for being proud… (reminder we’ve lost by 13+ 3 weeks in a row).

Well that’s the game plan from the galaxy brain coach and it’s the same every week

Take Tapine, Papali, Hosking, Young and Mariota out of the faders pack and see how they go.
We were missing Paseka, Aloiai, Olakau'atu, Burbo, Brown and lost Jurbo. Can't compete when 6 of your top 17 all forwards are out.
Funny how we don't mention Croker anymore, played a little at lock for a while.
