Our best side available is much better than 2016's, improved in ALMOST all aspects we needed to improve on.

In round one 2016 we were flogged by the Dogs at home by 28 - 6 in one of the most disappointing performance of the season

That night was a shocker. First game in the Jane Try stand after sitting on the Hill for about 40 years. We decided to exit stage left with 10 mins to go for the long drive back to the Central Coast and my wife fell over near Maccas. She ended up in Manly hospital with a shoulder fractured in 4 places. The op cost $5K+ and after endless amounts of physio she is about 85% right. Reinvested in Jane Try and hoping for better things in 2017.

The moral of the story is to sit on the hill with the rest of us!

Apart from the backrow last year, I actually think 2016 was a better looking side. Personally, I don't think we lacked quality on paper last year, they just didn't perform. I put it down to coaching and injuries.

I think we have too much garbage hanging around the joint this year. Winterstein, Wright, Uate, Green, Lawrence, and Kennedy. I know lot's of us like BJ but I think he is over the hill and i've never been fussed on Blake Green. The others are genuine reserve graders.

I think youth and speed have more upside than experience. These young players are so cocky these days and can handle the pressure.

(young and fast backline for the next 5 years)
Tom T
Taufua
Walker
Kelly
Schuster

Hastings
DCE

(young and aggressive pack)
AFB
Koroisau
Lussick
Taupau
Sironen
Jake T

(big bench with Brown to cover injury in backs, 9, and backrow)
Perrett
Lane
Myles
Brown

That's a shocker @Sheikheagle . Hopefully she regains full use.

Any team with Jono Wright and Akuila Uate starting is not one going places.
Pretty much this. Throw in Winterstein Brown and Kennedy. You have a proper average side there. No idea why we forced Buhrer out for these? Anyway. Good luck Trent. Your going to need it if you pick that side in Round 1. Wonder what his plans on defending the 5th tackle on our line will be? We all know what teams will be doing.

Both teams blow. Parra will flog us like the Dogscum did last year.
We are a much better team, not just on the lists, as some have argued (I think big improvement) however the squad should now have bonded to a much better degree then that of 2016's rd 1 side of which were all over the place. I like the bench's potential this year and think the squad is really improving with that mental toughness that carried manly through the decade of dominance/golden era. 2017 may not be perfect bu it will certainly build us up for a big few years ahead...

So much for Medicare then, here's me thinking hospitals were free, don't tell me a fracture shoulder in four places is deemed as elective surgery.
